Title: Advice/Help With Elementals.
Post by: 109567 on September 16, 2010, 11:38:42 AM
I have no name by which I go by for online interactions, so just call me Anthony.

My element is water, and I'm fairly powerful with it, and I'm starting to work with air.

I've done a lot of research on elementals lately, and was wondering if anyone knew how to possibly evoke one?

Please get back to me. Thank you.

Although i'm not very good at evoking elementals or much else for that matter usually however i've found that if you can go to a natural place where elementals may live contact
is much easier. The woods or a rock quarry for earth plains or a field for air a pond, bog, lake,or beach for water. Once your there i recommend you take a form of divination such
as a y dowsing rod or pendulum and just comb your way through the area till you get a tug. Ive also tried chanting possible names of elmentals of that element such as undine
siren mermaid marid kelpie e.t.c. or if oyur able to draw a large kilichore within a binding circle and lure the elemental into it by chanting or some large spirit atracting flash of magic
such as a blessing of nature then you have your elmental sighned sealed delivered.

Whilst i do believe in the existance of the supernatural and beings from outside our understanding, i tend to think that elementals are a completely human fabrication.
Its all just a bit too convenient, earth air fire and water.
It reeks of geometrical convenience, roleplaying games, and cheap film ideas by the likes of M Night shouldknowbetter (or whatever he is called.)
Its a level of complexity of the world only slightly more advanced than 'goodies and baddies'.

Sorry to be a party pooper.

not aproblem i find that a actual elemental by my definiton which is a being that is made up of one single element and thus not well orunded enough to be complex enough to have a body that isnt madeup of its own element is rare. Whoever thought of undines for water sylphs for air gnomes for earth and salamanders for fire probably used these names for the only elemental beings they knew of and called them elementals to reference a host of beings with a predominantly singular elemental composure sadly in that classification people forget that undines are supposed to be something originally like a nymph so were sylphs as gnomes had elven conotations salamnders actual low powered imps of fire and even worse the classification of djinn as the elemental for fire when in reality there highly complex beings made up of a fire/air base and are probably somewhere between a fallen angel thats not in hell and humans. but since this has been alot of what is taught in magic and from personal experience seems to work the names that we give them in our circles are to reference the elements and there powers themselves not beings per say.
