Did anyone see this 77 horror classic by Wes Craven
A early Wes Craven film shows that he was one of the fastest, most relentless filmmakers in or out of the horror genre.
-
Seen it and still love it! Wes is a great horror director! Good find.

I know it was like 30 yrs ago but this film struck me as inovative and wonderful!! The plot reminds me of the Sawney Beene story. Same basic principle. Guy becomes hermit, breeds, and kills people for food. Oh when real life hits the silver screen! :@0

A great film! It got me really hyped up to see the remake, which by the way didnt disappoint at all! Yay for head explody via magnums!
-
Agreed!!! :-D :-D :-D
-
The remake was pretty good, but I still like the original better
-
I love the original, as well as the remake, however, the remake could have been more of a re-envisioning. It sort of reminded me of the Psycho remake, which was scene for scene, and word for word, filmed the same.
-
I found the remake had slight differences from 1st. 1st one the were housed in caves instead of the nuclear testing sight.
-
A pretty dumb idea in the first place, remaking Psycho.
-
I think its horrid to remake any movie. Original ideas are something long forgotten. So I watch the remakes and appreciate the freshness of our era in which it was redone but the same old premise.
-
Exactly - if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
-
I find that usualy the only good thing that comes out of a remake is the re-issuing of the original movie in a prettied up SE DVD
-
How true Krymzn! That is quite the positive side of things! I do luv to upgrade from raggedy old vhs to the sleek DVD .
-
I transferred all of my old VHS onto DVD. Started out with my NHL collection, though, not horror. It was breaking my heart watching 10 years worth of live games slowly deteriorating :|
But now - yay! Nice shiny discs.
-
Not only are they shiny they are easier to store! Oh yeh! Space is definitely an issue in my collection.
-
I'm still trying to find all the spleniferous 80's horrors that I have on VHS, on DVD...they are slowly but surely starting to release them all

:focus:that weird looking really white fella from the original hills really freaks me out. Pretty strange looking cat. Perfect for the character he prortrayed.
