Title: Creature from the Black Lagoon / 1954
Post by: markus on June 24, 2006, 05:56:01 AM
Lucas  the captain of the Rita  tells the story of the aquatic monster that stalks the Black Lagoon

When Dr. Maia returns to his camp he finds that some savage beast has slaughtered his assistants later the team discovers that the legend of the half-man half-fish monster is  true.

The beast stalks the crew of the Rita.

The Creature comes aboard the boat and attacks but Dr. Williams wants to stay in the Black Lagoon to capture the creature and being the levelheaded 1950’s hero type  Dr. Reed pleads to leave the lagoon.

There is tension between the two young scientists over  Kay but the Creature also finds Kay quite a catch also

One of the great oldies and I still love watching this one

To this day when I am swimming in deep water and something I can't see brushes my foot,  I still get a weird chill... ... :-o :-o :-D

One of the all time greats from Universal Studios and a personal favorite of mine. I even like the first sequel "Revenge Of The Creature", but the third (and final) film "The Creature Walks Among Us" is not that great

I think Creature from the Black Lagoon is one of my top ten  of classic horror movies by Universal Studios.

You know, there's something funny about this movie...The Creature is supposed to be a survivor from prehistoric times. Did everything in that primeval era look like a guy in a rubber suit? I can't imagine the evolutionary advantage to having a zipper on your back
