Title: The Birds / 1963
Post by: markus on January 04, 2007, 09:38:32 PM
I never tire of watching this one

A San Franciso girl Melanie chases potential boyfriend Mitch to a town in northern california called Bodega Bay

It all starts when Melanie is crossing a lake and is nipped by a gull

Birds suddenly begin to attack people, their numbers increase and the attacks are getting more viscious

Lets you know Hitchcock was one of the most gifted film makers

The screeching bird sounds in it was chilling,it was for me.

Absence of backgound music before the bird attack scenes made them even more intense.

Saw this about 2 weeks ago? had it set to record but someone skipped it on my DVR

At the end of the film...there is no conclusion to it really :-o  Why did the birds attack? Did the Birds leave?...We know the people did

This was a great film and probably one of the reasons why is because there were no answers given.  Just like in real life. Plus the attack by the birds is fairly realistic and makes one wonder if this could ever really happen.

It's probably due for a remake with with modern CGI they could do the bird attacks really easy.

I dunno, I think the way the originally did the bird attacks were the best.  Especially because they had to tie them to the actors so they wouldn't fly away.  I can imagine how much fun that was.

I don't know, maybe we should do an experiment on how fun that was up at campus.  Campus remake of The Birds anyone?
