Chakras (7 vs. 13)

(1/2) > >>

Thirteen:
I've feel digging into the topic of chakras lately, it sounds like a meditation teqnique that I'd really like to try. While researching, noted that the most common amount of chakras in 7) I found a version that has 6 more added. Any opinions on this? I thought it was thorough and made a lot of sense to me. I quite liked the thirteen version, as you may have guessed.

Original:
1. Crown
2. Third Eye
3. Throat
4. Heart
5. Solar Plexus
6. Sacral
7. Root

while the Thirteenth Method is:
1. Astral
2. Crown
3. Third Eye
4. Senses
5. Mouth
6. Throat
7. Higher Heart
8. Middle Heart
9. Lower Heart
10. Golden Star
11. Solar Plexus
12. Sacral
13. Root

I've also seen the Earth Chakra, located under the root at the soles of the feet and the hip and shoulder chakras (yoga).

Here's the 13 Chakra site: http://www.onehealsone.co.uk/13chakras.php

TeteoInan:
It's a wonderful thing to be aware of, that's for sure.

Please correct me if I'm wrong in any of this...

There are 9 Physical Chakras: Crown, Third Eye, Throat, Hearts ( 3 ), Solar Plexus, Sacral and Base or Root.

and 4 Etheric Chakras: Celestial, Galactic, Universal, and Cosmic ( Different Names for different places of study )

The end result of having them all open is to be able to "teleport" into a higher state of being.

What would you like to know? Chakra and Reiki work was my best subject when I did the Holistic healing and massage therapy thing. ( Can't make you feel better if there's a problem with your body that can't be fixed with friction or skin rolling.  )

There is a Chakra used for Transference, which would be the Chakra located in your hands and feet... and there is a Grounding Chakra located something like a foot to maybe 3 or 4 feet underneath where you stand.

Opposite the Heart Chakra, and in between your Shoulder blades, is a Chakra point. This might be the one you're referring to. Some consider the ones seen on your back as entirely different Chakras. We're taught to view it as a different angle of the Chakra you learn when viewing an anterior ( front ) model or image.

AWBrielle:
There are 13 chakras (as Teteo outlined), as there are fourteen astral planes.

Thirteen:
Ah, that makes a lot of sense.

But do you mind me asking about the Etheric chakras or "places of study." Correct me if I'm wrong bu I thought your astral temple was the "place you go" while meditating? How can there possibly be other places.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I understand there are different planes and vibrations, but when you're shut down in meditation how can you possibly travel from one to the next?

AWBrielle:
When you're in meditation, you are in constant contact with your chakras. That said, there are four external communicators as well (apart from other entities). Think of it as a plane radio tower. They are in contact with everyone within the tower (your 9 chakras) and planes outside of the tower (the other 4 chakras). If you focus on the sounds that the chakras make, you might be able to make out another noise from what feels like another source - that would be one of the four chakras. That said, I do believe you have to be at a certain level to access those (here meaning that your active chakra must be one of the higher ones - e.g. the one that is diagrammed anywhere between your throat and your crown).

I'm not really sure if that helped at all, but I hope it did.
