Description


Preheat oven to 325F.

Mix flour, sugar, extract, and almonds thoroughly. Cut in
egg yolks and butter 'til completely mixed. Chill 2 to 4 hours.


Form balls from heaping teaspoons of dough and shape into
crescent moons.

Bake on greased baking sheets for 15 to 20 minutes.

it's for those witchy tea parties...the special cakes shaped like moons, starfruit and some chamomile tea...an aromatic incense wafting through the air....

and for the kiddies...

Beltane Marigold Custard

2 cups milk
1 cup unsprayed marigold petals
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar
1 to 2-inch piece vanilla bean
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1/8 tsp. allspice
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. rose water
whipped cream

Using a clean mortar and pestle reserved for cooking purposes, pound
marigold petals. Or, crush with a spoon. Mix the salt, sugar and spices
together. Scald milk with the marigolds and the vanilla bean. Remove the
vanilla bean and add the slightly beaten yolks and dry ingredients. Cook on low heat. When the mixture coats a spoon, add rose water and cool.
Top with whipped cream, garnish with fresh marigold petals.

I have a recipie but it is a mix to preferance one of here goes.

Two stems with leaves from a Rose bush (no flowers)

Unscented Shampoo
Unscented Conditioner
Two empty bottles

Boil the Herbal stuff for about half an hour on high. Then pour into new bottles mixing with shampoo then conditioner.

My preferance is something like

Two 10cm stems with leaves from a Rose bush (no flowers)
Packet of Cloves
Half Packet  of Cinnmon
2 tspns Sage

Okay well I'm one of those who associate the word "pagan" with magic so I thought that these were magical recipes. Sorry! I'll try that and I'll give you news!

that's a common asumption, sort of like all witches are wiccan...

here i think we're generally sticking to the polytheistic aspect of those who are not muslim, jewish or christian type of worshippers.

witches and wiccans both do qualify, as do most magickal people...but one can be a pagan and practice no magick at all.

i think this calls for some cheesecake. 

Chocolate Malt Cheesecake

Graham Cracker Crust:

1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons sugar
8 tablespoons melted butter

Cheesecake Filling:

3 (8-oz. blocks) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup chocolate malted milk powder
1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs

Oven 325 degrees.

For the crust, in a large mixing bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar and butter.  Press mixture onto the bottom of an 8-inch springform pan.  Bake crust in oven for 6 minutes, then cool.

Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla together in a large mixing bowl for about 5 minutes.

Mix malted milk powder and milk, stir and pour into cream cheese, sugar and vanilla mixture.  Mix well.

Add eggs, one at a time.  Mix well after each egg.

Bake cheesecake at 325 for 50 to 60 minutes.  Remove from oven, let cool for a few hours.  Remove from pan. Garnish with freshly whipped cream, crushed malted milk balls and drizzle cheesecake with 1 cup melted semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Variation:  Add 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels to batter.

Cover cheesecake tightly, refrigerate at least 24 hours.

but for a little magick to the mix...

From the book: If you are trying to win someone's love, you may be able to entice him or her with this bread. If you are trying to attract a blond individual, add 1 tsp vanilla extract. If it's the affections of a dark person whose love you are seeking, add 1/4 cup finely ground walnuts to the mixture. If a red-haired person has caught your interest, add 1/4 cup finely ground almonds. Lastly, if you love a stubborn individual who is slow to move into your embrace, add 1 tsp of lemon extract to open his or her heart.

1 package active dry yeast
1 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp water
1/3 cup honey
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/3 cup chopped red rose petals
2 tbsp poppy seeds
1/3 cup oil for moister bread (optional)

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Blend the yeast, water and honey. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes, until foaming. Mix in the flour, rose petals poppy seeds and oil or other additional ingredients and knead. Add additional flour if the dough sticks to the side of the bowl. Mold the dough into a ball. Cover with a cloth for 1 hour. Punch down the dough in the center and knead for approximately 5 minutes. Place the dough ini a greased loaf pan for about 1 hour until doubled in size. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.

i think i need some vanilla.

i moved this thread, hoping to generate a larger interest in offering recipes, of any sort...and hopefully instill a desire that more would like to offer their, experiences, and opinions...in both forums relating to, magickal practice and worship.

with that disclaimer(taken under advisement;))  here's a tantalizing recipe

HORNED GOD OIL


2 parts Frankincense
2 parts Cinnamon
1 part Bay
1 part rosemary
1 part Musk

Mix in a small bottle.

Wear to honor the Horned God during rituals.

i'm sure you could use it to honor, any male deity.

Witches' Brew (2000)

(this one pretty much fills a 12-quart cauldron)

four 48 oz cans pineapple juice
one 96 oz bottle orange juice
four 2 liter bottles lemon-lime soda
one 1.75 liter bottle vodka
one 1.75 liter bottle rum

All measurements are approximate. Adjust to your own taste.
Mix well. Pour into your cauldron, preferably with chunks of dry ice to create the bubbling steam effect.
(Be careful NOT to drink or eat or in any way come in direct contact with skin with any chunks of dry ice -
you can get burned by the extreme cold!)

White Candle Spell For Blessing

Obtain a white candle -- either a plain one (offertory, pillar, or taper) or a figural one in the gender of the person you want to bless.

Carve the person's full name on the candle, then dress it with Blessing Oil or Holy Oil. For more power, you may place a name-paper of the person, or a photo, or some personal item of theirs (such as a bit of hair or a snippet of clothing) either under the candle or next to it. An easy way to do this is to place the paper or personal concerns under an overturned saucer and put the candle on top of the saucer.

Burn a portion of the candle every day for seven days, pinching it out between burnings. As you light it each day, say this

A rather weird one I made yesterday...weird, but I like it.

1-2 cups chopped watermelon
1 leaf fresh basil

Juice in a blender on the highest setting (unless ye like the chunks).
Drink fresh and cold.

It's all my mum's fault I even thought of this. She cut the watermelon on the same board I'd been chopping basil on...and of course, the watermelon ended up tasting basily. I thought it tasted good, so I made the above drink. My sister refuses to eat anything I make now...

Ye might try substituting mint for the basil...I intend to as soon as I get another watermelon...

This is a good treat for kids, and very easy (just time consuming).

Chocolate Spiders

Put a package of chocolate chips in a bowl and microwave them until they are smooth and melted.  Stir well.

Transfer the chocolate into a freezer bag and snip a tiny bit off the end to make a "pastry bag".

Draw a small picture of a spider, approx 1" or so; lay a sheet of wax paper over your picture.  Simply squeeze the chocolate out the tiny hole as if you were tracing the spider picture underneath, then fill in the body with more chocolate.  Move your picture around under the wax paper and make as many as you have chocolate for.

Let them cool and they'll harden back into their "chocolate chip" form.

I don't see why you couldn't use your imagination and make other things, ie bats, cats, etc.

those would be perfect to sprinkle on cupcakes, you could probably even go with some white chocolate chips, color it and make a bug bag, molds for skulls and bones....good idea.

i like blender treats, i used to be really big on tossing a variety of frozen fruits and juices together...sort of like virgin daquiries i suppose?

I recently purchased a juicer and have been making all sorts of combinations of juice drinks.

I found that about 1/4 cup of juice added to a large glass of tea is delicious. 

Re:  the chocolate spiders.  I saw these served at a Halloween party years ago all piled into a bowl.  Jordyn's idea of putting them on cupcakes would be really cute.  I believe white chocolate would melt and re-form like dark chocolate; if there's a child around who wants to help, this would be a lot more fun.

Sunburn Tea

Use this when you get a nasty burn.

Make a strong tea of mint and chamomile. Chill it, then dip a clean soft cloth in it and put the cloth on your burn.
The chamomile is immediately soothing, and the mint helps prevent peeling and encourages tanning instead.
Repeat daily until burn heals for best results.

I burn very easily, usually two nasty peeling burns a summer, but this concoction (along with a new brand of sunscreen...didn't stop me burning but made it not so bad) saved me from peeling this year. Aloe never really worked for me, it just made me feel slimy while it was wet, then crusty when it dried. If you like, you can add aloe to the mix.
