Im seriously interested in reading about pagans and wiccans, and what it entails to become one, since theres so many misconceptions about them, i thought i would read a book, but there are so many out there and i dont want to waste my time,  can anyone suggest any?

The simplest and most common book book is usually referred to as "The Blue Book". It is actually "Gardner's Book of Witchcraft", (feel free to correct me on the title folks, it's been over ten years since I've even looked at a cover for this one). In it you'll find a lot of information useful to beginners like yourself. I wouldn't recommend taking this as your sole starting point, but it is a nice introduction.

Most books depend on your field that you what to study and expand from. For example. I'm Celtic, and I started off with books not nessarily dealing with craft, but insight and the ability to write my own rituals. A book can only give insight to things, you shouldn't take them as total truth. A person should find their groove set. Everyone is different in how you interact in craft and how you invlove your self in this world and the other. Just keep an open mind, and stay away from the bad books that look not only fake, but try to look mysterious and ridiculously advertised in my opinion. Do some research on the books you might find good, and even read them a bit to see if it holds credibility. Blessesd be and may you find the answers you seek. I personally reccomend "Celtic Traditions: Druids, Faeries and Wiccan Rituals" by Sirona Knight.

I got a few recommendations for you and believe in much of what CelticSeeker said if it looks ridiculous it probably is.
Amber K - True Magick is a good book tells you the basics of witchcraft, and is also a good tool of information based on Wicca and witchcraft. Herman Slater is a good author on the basics + of Paganism. If you have a bit of time online the best site for basic info is About.com, but there is a vast array of information and it can get rather overwhelming. So keep in mind, not to take everything as it is, to read and research and decide on your own what is important and what is not. BB and Harm None

I would reccomend "A Witch's Book of Answers" the book Molock referred to is "Buckland's Book of Witchcraft" both are excellent places to start. Also, "Living Wicca" by Scott Cunningham is a great starter. All three are books I feel every Wiccan should have. I have been studying & practicing for years & I still turn to them.

I have a couple books about this stuff, I'll try & find them to ask you if they are any good. Might take a while, we moved & I forgot what box/closet I stored them in.
