i would ask it if salt does what they say it does to ghosts.........and also cold iron,silver and so on
i would get an oujia board and have a nice quite long conversation about death
i would try to play chess....with it
try out the solomonic pentacles if they really work
ask it if it knows its dead

Er. I think you have demons mixed with poltergeist "hauntings." Or you don't quite know what poltergeists are - they're manifested energy that's tied to a particular individual. Projections, if you will, that seem to "take a life of their own" in ways. Solomon's Pentacles? Useless. Entirely.

im just confused..........about the fact that in albanian lore there is also a similar "entity"
.....they are like angry spirits usually called lugat....but a lugat is like a kind of vampire so they kinda mixed it up.......there is also a story behind it, in my moms family......well my moms grandmother had a cousin whose her house was hounted from a poltergeist like thing.....they would call it a lugat....cause it would throw things at her, open all the door's, it dragged the flour sack when she made bread(this could be a book title, about poltergeists )....and etc.

No. What you're thinking of is an inhuman haunting. Inhuman is more or less demonic, but even that depends on various factors. Inhuman generally implies something that was not once or is not created by a human. Often these hauntings are mistaken - take the common idea of a poltergeist, as opposed to what it actually is; that could be inhuman, depending on, again, various factors. "Manifested energy" means energy that is channeled and produced by a specific individual. That's why poltergeists are usually associated with teenagers and children - you know the whole "angst" concept? It's a projection. What's your source of information for the "demonic" angle?

You've basically covered everything. These are human spirits. Intelligent spirits know they are dead and what’s going on. Residual spirits don’t know what is going on and normally can’t be bothered while on the astral plane; imagine a skipping record but a spirit. Under the category of intelligent spirits is poltergeist who are normally acting out against something in the house--say perhaps construction or activities in the house. If the presence attacks people, then it's an inhuman haunting most of the time--much harder to get rid of.

Poltergeists generally run their course within a few weeks to a few months. They generally don't last long (THEORY: due to using much of their energy to move things and such). Other haunting tend to last forever or at least until piece is found or a priest... both start with P.

Inhuman haunting does not leave until it achieves whatever it's goal is (keeping a home vacant, or leading someone to their death that they feel is a threat) they cannot kill you direction but they can play a hand in leading a person to suicide.

I agree with mostly everything u said here, except about the poltergeist. There id agree with AWBrielle and all the angst thing among the energy peaking teens .
 Also, dead people dont stay here, but their energetic impact, thus anyone claiming they are talking with someone deceased, i consider a fraud. Dead people are dead, period. Their soul never stays here unless trapped (but thats entirely different topic).  Anything else that talks through mediums and such, isnt human nor it ever was, but devil knows his job

This also comes from research AND personal experience.

Insofar as "the dead stay dead" is concerned, I've heard tell that there are some forms of haunting where they / their souls have yet to completely "pass on," per say. I haven't gathered enough info on that in specific kind of thing, so unless someone here beats me to it, I'll gather more notes and share what I know.
