Title: Lisey's Story....
Post by: Trex on December 29, 2006, 08:54:04 AM
I'm reading "Lisey's Story" by King right now.  I don't like it; I'm struggling through it.  It's about a writer and his wife. (of course)  I think King has lost his touch.  I like his early stuff so much better, like "The Stand",  "Christine", "Night Shift", "The Dead Zone", etc.  It's ok, though!  The dude has wrote so many good ones, I feel I can forgive him. *<:)

Actually, 'Lisey's Story' is based on what happened back when he was hit by a passing vehicle while walking down the shoulder of a country road in Maine. A lot of his work after that refers back to that one incident, so it may be that this book is his way of self catharsis.

OO! Is that the one that ABC or whomever based the mini series off of? That series was awesome.

As far as I know, yes it is. He also used in in the end of his 'Dark Tower' saga. The part where Jake ends up saving Mr. King from being killed and ends up being fatally injured in the process because Roland can't move quickly enough due to 'the dry twist'. I'll stop there because there really is so much more to this story than this and I don't want to spoil it. I highly reccomend this saga to anyone.

The Dark Tower saga is like a million pages put together
