Secular, skeptical and religiously liberal groups and individuals have long given up any belief in Satan, his demons, demon possession as a cause of illness, and the need for exorcism.

The rational point of view is that alleged demonic possession is probably caused by:
*brain disorders (eg epilepsy), or
*illnesses (eg schizophrenia), or
*otherwise healthy people temporarily suffering stress, anxieties or emotional crises

However, some cases remain 'unexplained'. While you are welcome to share your experiences of unexplained 'demonic' activity with us, do not ask for exorcisms, etc. If you are convinced that you have been possessed by a demon or by Satan and need religious intervention then you should consult your local church or health care provider.
