Mermaids
« on: February 22, 2004, 10:18:12 AM »
I was sailing with my friends on the Gulf of Mexico and suddenly the wind picked up. I was thrown overboard and would have drowned or been dashed upon the rocks when a young girl seemingly not there before swam up took my hand. Immediatley I was thrown into a state of shock not knowing how she got there or why I did not have to fight the waves any more. Apparently I passed out and when I awoke I was in a Mexican hospital. I believe thier are mermaids in the gulf.

You don't have to believe their story, but there is no reason to call them stupid. You have shown us your level of maturity (or lack thereof), now please show some respect to these people.

no such thing as a mermaid

How would you know this ?  have you scoured the entire oceans of this world with your own eyes ?    maybe they hid from you because they don't like you .

it is a fact that all life in this planet started in the oceans .  primates ancestors came from the seas ! thus there is a link between fish and man ..... so mermaids and merman could have existed in ancient times ....and if they once existed , it's possible there are a few left today .

Sure, the ocean contains much more creatures (compared to Earth) that have been able to escape being destroyed (like other terrestrial species) by the human bastard. Take Krakens, we have scientifical proofs that very large specimen exist but no one has been able to catch any !

Same thing for mermaids and water spirits !

I don't believe in Merpeople, there is no logical explination for it, half-human half-fish?????? Not gonna happen, the thing that he saw was maybe a lifeguard like someone suggested.
