Post by: TeteoInan on November 04, 2011, 12:04:01 PM
There was a Topic started a couple years ago on Members' pets: http://www.monstrous.com/forum/index.php?topic=6357.0 (http://www.monstrous.com/forum/index.php?topic=6357.0)

Sooo here's a current one, to talk about the pets you have and/or the pets you'd like to have.
Share your stories, post interesting information if you'd like as well.

EDIT: Didn't feel like modifying the whole thing. So I just deleted the rest of this... >.<

Wow Teo, that's a verifiable zoo u had going there! :-P

I only have two Wolf-Huskies, Lava and Rumpus...they're my fur babies...:D

(and YES, they're named after Gaga's dogs from Pokerface )

They're both four years old now...The breeder actually screwed up and they're actually 75/25 hybrid, instead of 60/40...found out two days ago, H3ll yea!

Lava's my hunting dog though, Rumpus just doesn't seem to care for it, which I find odd, since he's the male wolf/dog...don't they usually do the hunting???

Oh, I was listening to Timeless Miracle's "The Red Rose" yesterday...and howling along to it *embarrased*, and Lava joined in with me and Lex yelled from the other room "What the f*ck is this, pack roll call or something!" and she slammed the door...Ahh, gotta love them pregnancy hormones! *Growls* :back to topic:

I'm not allowed to have Snakes or Spiders again...
Fiance doesn't even want me to have Ferrets, but Eff that!!  :-P
When we get that house, I'm going to get a Ferret, a puppy, a turtle for Megatron to mate with, some fish for the kids...
We already have two cats...
and we'll have 3, possibly 4 kiddies...
Now that's a zoo.

I agree on that one Teo!

If things go to plan, our house in San Juan will be like that, but with 5 or 6 kids (yes, we want to adopt as well) in 10 or 15 years...

Hey, Pubes only got out and sat on your face ONE time.
He didn't do it again!
( He's a Rose Haired Tarantula, btw... just, so we clear that up. )

Azzy here decided to try and drop an M80 in his tank...

Oh, Teo...u completely caught me of guard with that one! I can't stop laughing now...ROFLMAO!

I was like, oh dear god, where the hell is THIS thread going now...

Thank you for clearing THAT up...

Spiders are still creepy though, now snakes are a different story...Wolfie want's a python SO bad now that he saw one at the store...I'm gonna wear it as both a pet AND a fashion statement...but the other half of the house is deathly afraid of snakes...*sighs*

@Azzy - I can understand, as someone that also hates spiders, why you'd wanted to do that...but that probably wasn't the best possible idea... :-P

Currently my fiance & I have 1 mini pot belly pig named Spike, a giant cat named Grimm,  8 snakes. At one point there was also around 4 rats, an additional 5-10 snakes, 5 fish. Pretty sure we are done for a while but our next one would be a large bird most likely a macaw or cockatiel. Also,  we want livestock one day goats, cows, chickens, horses.

That was the idea
I didn't name him, but of course, in a house full of Men, my poor tarantula was bound to end up with a funny name.
"Pubes on your face" Started, because he would get out of his tank ( after certain people wouldn't lock it back right  :x ) and find a warm, familiar spot to curl up. This meant of course, that you could wake up with him between your legs, under your arms, behind your ear curled up under your hair... or on your face.
He was persistent, too.
If he wanted to be on a spot, he was going to be there.
For instance, I woke up 5 times, at least one night because he wouldn't stay out of my armpit...
I was afraid of crushing him when I rolled over, so I'd move him... only to have him move back after I got comfy.

Do you have any pictures of Spike?

I do have pictures of her but I can never seem to manage to upload pictures onto here. They are fantastic pets. Smarter than a dog; their intelligence level is like that of a human 3 year old as far as figuring problems out, they live 15-20 years, are clean, shed at most twice a year when they lose their coat for the new one to come in. If you do decide to get one, realize it is sort of like having a baby & will need constant attention. Also, be sure to buy from a reputable breeder since many people selling "mini pot belly pigs" are in fact selling crosses or even hoglets & these animals are often unhealthy.

 :focus:
My dream  pet, & this is going way out there, would be a whale shark or great white. I've always loved sharks, dove with them frequently, & find them beautiful, terrifying, graceful, & humbling all at once.

Full day later, I see it again and am STILL end up laughing...you should be a comedian Teo!

I didn't name him

Lex and I named our Huskies Lava and Rumpus after Gaga's Great Dane's from the music video "Pokerface"...yes were both Gaga fans, take it or leave it...*sighs*

This meant of course, that you could wake up with him between your legs, under your arms, behind your ear curled up under your hair... or on your face.

Makes Wolfie cringe and his fur shudder, I HATE spiders...the one animal I really can't stand...

Wolfie still wants a python really bad, that is now his dream pet...he would be a pet, AND I could wear him around with my Gothic stuff and freak people out even more *Wags tail, is happy wolf*

We never intentionally dove with them, but sharks were always in areas we would explore when we went down.
Especially the reefs...
I couldn't imagine trying to take care of of a Great White though.
Keeping up with its' food alone would be a pain.

When I used to live out in the wilds, one day I got up and was making breakfast and had that jarring feeling that something wasn't quite right. It had taken me a few minutes to realise that when I had casually glanced out of the window there was a Barn owl sat in the tree outside (http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4003/4445654694_3f07a1081f.jpg)* staring back in at me.

I went outside and got close enough to touch it without it flying away. I was in seventh heaven looking at it, and took a few pics, but guessed something was amiss. So I telephoned the office of the people who owned the land I was living on and told them what had happened. Turns out there was a release program in the area, and a young owl had recently been put into one of the barley barns about a quarter of a mile away. They gave me the number of the organization who were behind it, and they in turn told me that it would let me handle it and I should take a hold and put it into a box until someone could get over there and pick it up.

Holding that thing was just incredible. My heart was in my mouth and it was so damn beautiful.

Owls are cool.

*That's not my pic by the way.

I love Possums, one of my favorite animals to work with. A girl I worked rescued & rehabbed them, she would always bring babies in with her. Owls are another really beautiful one that would be neat to have. Teteo, it's be easier than keeping up with the whale shark diet of plankton!

Nina, America is a huge country, you have to ask by Region here, not as a whole...some people do, like in Appalachia and some parts of mid-South, on the East Coast or (esp.) the Great Lakes Region? Fark that man! Gross! Pheasants, rabbits and ducks are more what we get for small game up here...but hunting deer is the ultimate hunting IMO! :-P (is my inner wolf showing a bit?)

Even the hunting style is different down there...they tend to trap and snare, up here...we're predatory with our guns and crossbows, we go out and find w/e it is and shoot it! :D

The South likes to think that they're a bunch of Bad-ass, gun-toting Red necks...they should visit Minnesota, Wisconsin or the Yooper a few times! Even women and girls hunt up here, and there are "hunting babies" cuz of that! XD

Actually Arctic, most hunters down here track and shoot, no trap. Way too many use bows. And no, we don't eat possums. Unless you were raised in backwoods country.

*Sigh* No one gets my Yankee humor :(...I'm just poking the South with the stick of fun...I'm more of a Redneck than alot them (esp. in the cars and guns dept) anyway, ask Bane 8-)

Weird...last time I went hunting in Tenn. when I was there we where "trapping" mostly, it's like we didn't speak the same language! I wanna go out and HUNT and STALK down what I'm hunting and shoot it (arrows or guns)...as a part-wolf it's boring to just trap...*wolf yawns*
