So, with everything that I have read on the subject of shadows, I have reached a question, but first an explanation.
For years I have taken the time to shield myself from negative energy. Anywhere from simple meditation to empowering objects and the like to surround me and to protect me from the negativity I encounter in everyday life. For the past year, I had 4 natural amethyst crystals of different color degrees (darkest to lightest) that I empowered to add an extra UMPH to the cleansings that I do to keep my room relatively negative energy-free, and it worked.
Well, two days ago I removed these amethysts because I am moving out. I put them in a bag with all of my other amethyst items and put them with my stuff to be moved. That night I had a dream that my only female friend in the entire state I live in, my boyfriend, and I were being pursued by a shadowy figure. In my dream I was walking down a path with the two and I saw in the bushes beside the path a shadow moving around. I told the two to stop because I saw something. Leah didn't see anything, but my mate did. We tried to speak to whatever it was, and out of the bushes came a tall, human-shaped figure. I thought I just couldn't see what he looked like, but as it turns out when he took a step into the light of a street lamp there was nothing but darkness to see. As he came toward us, I screamed at Leah to run. She couldn't see it, but ran because Al and I knew it didn't want to communicate. We ran, and in the darkness shadows in the shapes of different animals (because where we were in the dream there were farms all around) so when we thought we were nearing someone's house, the figures would change shape. Leah was confused because she couldn't see anything, so she fell behind. We reached our destination and slammed the doors and locked them.
I typically can control things like this in my dream, where when I reach a spot in my mind that I deem safe, I really am safe and can continue with what I want to happen. Well... as it turns out what when we were going to go about our business the shadow that was following us walked through the door and headed toward me. We turned on really really bright lights in the house and it disappeared.
My question is does this sound like just another scary dream or was there acutally an encounter? I've never had dreams about shadowy people before, so I just thought it was odd. I read the posts about shadows before I decided to post anything about the dream because I wanted to make sure it was actually a shadow that I dreamed about, but I really think I need an unbiased opinion on this.

A little experiment is in order then. Take twelve thumbtacks tonight, and stick them into your headborad before you go to slepp. No need to imbue them or bless them or anything, just stick them in, and go to bed. If you still have another dream of this nature while they are stuck in their, (in any pattern by the way), then it is your own mind doing this to you. If not, then it was indeed a Shadow.

Good idea.
So now that's done, I will wait and see what happens. And, I don't have a headboard, so I just stuck them into the mattress underneath my pillow. Will that work?

It should as long as you're not like me and put your arm under your pillow as you sleep! *<:) OUCH!

LMAO... could you stick them in the wall above your bed then? It would be a shame to waste all that blood....

I'll just stick with the bed. My bed is in the corner of my room, facing the middle diagonally. I'll just make sure they are secure. Maybe push them back a little bit...

Well, I didn't dream about any shadows of any kind. I had some really weird dreams, but nothing that really stuck out.

Daemonin, anything with a total of twelve will do. You could've glued twelve pennies to your pillow, and it would have been the same. A flower arrangement in your room with a dozen roses, lillies, or even Lilliputians would have worked fine.

And I guess it worked. I mean... no shadowy dreams. I'll keep some 12's around me then or something just in case...

I made a necklace in third grade out of a piece of my hair and pencil shavings. Teacher made me throw it away... :cry:

I'm not sure.... It looked really cool... I actually wore it for awhile.
