I thought the chupacabra was indigenous to Mexico?

Are you telling me that the U.S border patrol couldn't prevent these illegal aliens from crossing into the U.S?  :-o

I wish I was as skilled as blow_fly. Sadly, I don't have quite his talent for exposing idiocy.

I don't see how you could restrict this creature to Mexico. Just like every other wild creature.. it travels too.

yeah, but think about it like this.
Well, first off, I think the "chupacabra" is more than one creature, or even species of creature. It's several different creatures being lumped together in one category because of similar hunting strategies.
The areas where the majority of chupacabra attacks happen have lots of livestock and very little urbanization. It is living in a giant feast. I don't think an animal with all the food it could ever want and the perfect place to stay away from danger would want to stray very far from "home".

I'm not saying it would want to... I'm saying maybe it had to. Forced out because of age or a more dominent male?

Or competition with other species of "chupacabra".

Exactly my point. They may not have had a choice in the matter of changing territories. Which could lead to why they are seeing them sick and in other areas.

True enough.
I wouldn't doubt that the creature sighted is just some form of mutated coyote that is too weak to hunt regularly, so it ambushes it's prey, drains as much blood as possible, and waits for it to bleed out the rest.
