Title: Not a clue in the world where I belong!
Post by: Bracken_Reedweb on October 03, 2010, 05:25:32 PM
Hello, everyone! I've been lurking around on Pagan Living for a while, trying to figure out which specific thing is right for me...and I still have no idea. So, I'm going to do what I always do when I'm puzzled: Ask someone (or in this case, someones) older, wiser, and more experienced than myself!

I'm so new to all this, so please bear with me (Bear? Bare? Whatever...), ok? Here we go:

I've always felt a compulsion, a need to do magic (Magic? Magick? I know I've asked before, but I can't remember...does it matter how I spell it?), or even just to be involved with it. To be connected to nature, too, is very important to me! I love all animals (I even occasionally find spiders a bit cute!) and animals really like me too (especially cats!)

I'm powerfully drawn to water and always have been. Water and Air are my favorite elements.

I'm half Native American, a quarter Irish, and a quarter French (Not sure if that matters...but, hey...it can't hurt, right?)

I'm not really Agnostic...I don't believe in "God", but I believe in the Fay, Vampires, (Psychic and Sanguine), Ghost, Demons, Aliens, Shadows/ Shades, etc. I'd be extremely uncomfortable having to completely believe in and depend upon any kind of God or Goddess. I just can't force myself to believe in these omnipotent beings.

I can see auras.

I get Déjà vu quite frequently.

Often I have dreamt something, and then it actually happened.

I'm really good at persuading people to change their minds about things. I'm very good at changing people's attitudes (Especially making people happy, even if I myself am upset/sad/angry)

...So? Any ideas? What do 'ya say, guys?

Lady is right, in time you will find who/where you belong. One thing I found that helped me was making an "I Believe" list. This included everything I believe in supernaturally, spiritually, morally, etc. None of it has to fit into anything, just free write whatever it is that you believe in/believe to be true in your own heart & mind. Don't try to write it all at once do a few then take a break for however long & return as you see fit. It's a list that can be ever growing & when looked back upon can show you how you've changed, remained the same, & give you a better idea of who you are. Best of luck, it is a long difficult journey but worth every minute.

Read - a LOT. The more you expose yourself to, without limiting yourself by clinging too tightly to the ideas of others, the more you will get to know yourself. As you get to know yourself, don't be afraid to leave old ideas that don't fit, work, or feel right to you behind. I myself went through many phases and ideas before I settled into something that fit me well.

Bottom line... be your own person.
