mine have always been a little, odd...i used to hear stories from neighbors of my dad out in the field calling aliens to come and take him home.   :banplea:

Well, my mother had seen the old wise man in white, that loved to come and dissapear, and father had some....well, lets just say-enlightened moments....

I'd rather not go into it. Lets just say I had an interesting childhood.

we usually do.  ;)

The one down side is that I lack disapline and my mind lacks structure, and so it really affects my ability to perform magic.  With out these two factors it is really hard to be anything more than an armchair magician. I do enough magic each day to stop the feeling but not much more.  Hel I have trouble developing habits. Bad or good ones.

But you could do mental exercises to be more focused. All you need is will, patience and self-confidence.

That has always been a catch 22, to develop focus and displine you must have focus and displine. I have trained for focus and patience I can stand or sit still for hours staring at the same spot. My eyes dont rove like they're supposed to do. The problem lies in this when I learn these things I had nothing else to do but these things. I used to sit and meditate for 6hrs (I am told it always seemed like 5 minutes to me), becuase there was nothing else to do.
Real displine allows for life, where I have trouble doing remembering to do things I do everyday.

Natural abilities...strange things always happened around me, and I've never been able to convince myself that I didn't really see fairies and my dolls didn't move on their own as a small child. That stuff stopped as I was told over and over it was my imagination until I mostly believed it...but there were always little things that didn't fit with the accepted 'reality'. I guess I'm sort of coming full-circle... When I was little I'd try to do magic, but it never worked, probably because of my very skewed idea of what it was and how to do it...abracadabra and wiggling my fingers and such...

I was one of those kids who openly believed in fairy tales longer than everyone else...tolerated for awhile then finally ridiculed into keeping it to myself, but never really able to stop.

One thing I always was 'allowed' to believe in was dreams...my mum believes very strongly that dreams can have important things to say and should be paid attention to, and she would always listen to me and try to help me figure it out.

Of course we have to pay attention to our dreams. Most of the time, they are just the account of your day or your emotionnal state. But often they can indicate solutions, or sometimes predict the future.

I've had enough experience with that by now to know better than to ignore any of them...

i second that assessment, not that my dreams have ever been overtly prophetic, but a lot of time their meanings will hold some good messages for me to apply to my life...i'm usually most grateful for the warnings, like using my credit card a little too much and having a dream of becoming overdrawn...fortunately i'm not, but i take it as a warning to curb it.  ;)

Natural abilities...strange things always happened around me, and I've never been able to convince myself that I didn't really see fairies and my dolls didn't move on their own as a small child.

Same here.  I was absolutely positive that my dolls moved.  I'm still not convinced that they didn't.  I have memories that go back to the age of around 2 1/2, and a memory of a smell from when I was 9 months old.

All through my young childhood, from around 3-7, I had a persistent thought: "I have to remember all of this because it is important."

I was very isolated as a child.  We lived on the family farm in a house that was exactly one mile from the pike (main road  :-)), and as I was the first child, there was nobody at all for me to play with.  There were only sporadic visits from friends and relatives who had children so I spent a lot of time by myself until the age of 8 when we moved to town.

I have strong intuitive senses.  Sometimes I don't know exactly what's going on with someone I'm with, but I always know for sure if they're having a problem or sadness.   I pick up on unspoken communication extremely well, and sometimes mistakenly take it for granted that everyone else can do that too.

Once I had a throat infection that the doctors couldn't cure and my mother took me to the local witch healer.  She chanted something and used herbs dipped in three glasses of water.  She rubbed the herbs around in my mouth and the infection was gone the next day.

I do not claim the title of 'witch' anymore, but I believe there are a lot more things possible than most mainline Christians are willing to admit.

my favorite trick i learned out of a folk magick book was concerning taking an onion and rubbing it on warts three times saying something like out warts into onion, and then bury the onion, as it rots the warts will fade away...i woke up one morning and they were gone.

the odd part is that i had them burned off, they came back, i had them frozen off, they came back...and finally i tried the onion...now i have three little scars on my mount of venus to attest that, something made them go away.

I read something similar, you rub a snail on your warts, hang the snail to dry. When the snail is dry, your warts are gone. Ewww......

Yes, that is a warranted emotion, particularly if the said warts were of the "genital" persuasion.
