I had this question in my mind for many years. My great grandmother was what here in Puerto Rico is known as a white witch. My mother tells me that thanks to our forefathers we have channels that allow us to have the gift to connect beyond what people consider normal. My mother never wanted to teach me anything, because now she is Christian and believes he has to break these chains. But I feel as if those channels were more important in life than anything else. So I really would like to know if it is true that magic runs through my veins, thanks to my ancestors. Forgiveness for my English and thank you in advance.

I'd say that, should the ability to harness psychic ability through "magic" actually exist, it would make sense that this ability would be hereditary.
I myself have experienced some strange things with this...There was a friend of mine quite awhile back who was descended from a long line of mambos and houngans, and he could do some things that I've never really been able to explain.

I believe it is or at least can be hereditary. In the case of my own family, there are women on both my mother and my father's side that are 'sensitive' in different ways.

I think it can be hereditary.  I mean, my mom and I both have dream predictions and the like.  Of course, she says it is a lot less frequent for her since she had kids.  But yes, I believe it can be hereditary.  So, yes I think you have the ability to unlock it within yourself.  Of course, it depends on how much of it is actually there.  You know, the whole DNA roll of the dice.  You could have a lot or a little, it just depends.

Dear Rainbow, you should follow your own belief. Forget your mother and her fear of accepting the gift G-d gave her in the first place.

Do you have a living grandmother or anybody else who can help you with "waking" up?

Yes, those channels are indeed important, but it is you that has to decide what to do with them.

Well yes I have my Grandmother alive and her sisters... But since my great grandmother die they all stop following her footsteps... So I really dont have anybody that could help me... That's why Iam here... This way I could learn a little more of what I really like... And what I feel is the reason of my life here on earth.

You said you are from Puerto Rico, right? So I presume your gifted ancestors were into Brujeria?

Yes... the thing is that here in Puerto Rico are many ways of Brujeria... Because there is the Santeria that is when you worship the saints and do sacrifices for them... There is Brujeria Blanca that is when you are in total contact with the nature... You let the elements, the stars, the sun, etc. guide you... And believe me here in Puerto Rico they are more Santeras than Brujas Blancas... So that's why I do not feel comfortable seeking help here in Puerto Rico... I do not want to get away from what was my great-grandmother I want to follow in her footsteps...

Ok, do you know what branch of Brujeria your grandma was in? Maybe she cannot help you much, but Im sure if she sees that you are consistent and if you find a mild way to ask her about it, that she will help you, at least a bit. Maybe she wont tell you exactly how to do things, but if you will learn on your own, she most certainly wouldnt like you to get on the wrong track, if you understand me.  And she is your grandma, they are always soft to their grandchildren.

hello rainbow id just like to say that i can heavily empathize with you both sides of my family have along ttraition of occult and paranrmal knowledge but also like you the recent conversion of my family into christianity has marked these practices as evil and taboo although my famly does tell me a few things for my own protection ive recently had to connect to ancestreal spirits for guidance.

In my family almost all the females have some kind. But it may be linked with the fact we all have a lightning bolt shaped birthmark somewhere on our bodies.

I dont see why it couldnt go down a family line. Everything else does. Not just physical things but attitudes and personalities can be seen in family members that have never met. My Gran, Mum and sister can all talk to the dead. It only seems to be the girls in my family have that trate.

perfectly logical it is the same in my family the bulk of the power is paseed down the maternal line to the matriarch or highest ranking female descendant in my family however me and my brothers somehow ended up with the more than average amount of power the stories complicated but im the next highest ranking family member decende from our matriarch.

I never noticed the rank thing before but your right. My gran was the oldest, my mother in the next generation and my sister is the oldest girl in my generation of siblings and cousins.
