In the last week or so I have been smelling sulfur. It comes and goes and it is in different places, so not in the house only outside. First I thought it was just in my head, but when my son asked me about the smell it got me thinking.  There is an area in the back yard where my dogs used to go but not anymore. They stay clear of it.
How true is it that sulfur is connected with demons?  Should I be concerned?
Sorry if this post is in the board, but I feel that it is not a mayday item. Not yet anyway?!

Is there anything buried there?  Perhaps a small blessing would be in-order.

As far as I know there is nothing buried.  It used to be an old field with a pond on it. They filled in the pond. Over the years we have been here I have also noted that there is an area where it is always cold even on hot summer days. It gives me goosebumps walking there.
I am not familiar with blessings.  What do I say/do?

To add to this. I was wondering if this could have anything to do with the other (see 'Shadow Man') things that been happening?

Sulfur is associated with demons because of brimstone.  I would investigate the possibility of a deposit or remnants of one.

You say that at one point there was a pond in that area.  In my research I have found that when someone wishes to make someone (or something else) disappear they would put them into metal drums with cider blocks or regular rocks, weld the lid shut, put a few holes into it, then toss it into a nice boggy pond.  The sediment at the bottom will do the rest.  So, are you absolutely certain there is nothing buried there?

No I am not certain, but out here there is a good possibility. Hypothetically if that would be the case what can be done about it. My husband would think that I finally lost my mind completely if I started to dig holes in the back yard.

Simplest solution would be a blessing of the area, unless of course you do not follow a religion.

There might be a leak in one of the underground gas pipes outside, they try to give dangerous ordorless gases added smells sot that you can know that there is a leak to call the gas company. Also Muerte is right the pond could have a decay muck smell which is similar to sulfur or rotten eggs (I had to work with lake cores before for pollen samples, it does have a really icky smell to it). I would investigate in these two things before I start assuming demons. It would give an explanation why your dog wont go there anymore.

Thanks you all.  I will check into what they used to fill up the pond with and do some research on the area itself.

Sorry it took so long.
I finally found the source of the smell(s). Our neighbors septic tank is overflowing and apparently for a while now.

It's kinda funny how your mind can take you so easily over the deep end. :-D

Thanks again for you input.
