phoenix..

(1/8) > >>

Elie:
what is it really?
is it just a mythical creature from arabian deserts?
or one of the chief demons of ars goetia..?

Night Energy:
The phoenix is the mythical bird that is immortal, and it is reborn from his ash when it is too old.

Countess:
The Phoenix is a symbol of rebirth. I have never heard of it even being associated with demons. They generally live 500-1000 years then make a fire so hot the bird is reduced to ashes. From these ashes an egg emerges which then grows again. It is considered a spirit of fire. It's appearance has changed through cultures from being a total bird with incredible plummage to having the head of a dog & the body of a bird. It can be found in Persian, Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Chinese, & even Christian mythology.

Ars Goetia
#37 Marquis Phenex

Phenex is a Great Marquis of Hell and has twenty legions of demons under his command. He teaches all wonderful sciences, is an excellent poet, and is very obedient to the conjuror. Phenex hopes to return to Heaven after 1,200 years, but he is deceived in this hope.
He is depicted as a phoenix, which sings sweet notes with the voice of a child, but the conjurer must warn his companions (for he has not to be alone) not to hear them and ask him to put in human shape, which the demon supposedly does after a certain amount of time.

who is this then?
