Alot of times they try to kill us as they leave, but you have to undo and loosen their many strongholds before you can even attempt to get them off and keep them out. We won't die without them, on the contrary we will be even more filled with life once we have fixed the broken parts of ourselves they attached to in the first place. They're like leeches that cling to our wounds and in enchange give us the strength to protect ourselves from others getting close to our wound.

what about our powers and abilities? are they there because of them? or will the disappear when they leave us?

They're our abilities, they will just be powered by our renewed, purified energy powered by love instead of manifesting through the demon and draining us and using them for negative purposes.

I'm not sure if you know, but I hope you do...
how do you get rid of such a demon? my gf tells me it looked evil, unexplainably scary but it also looked tame... but she's scared of it and if I were to be able to get rid of it, without it changing who I am I would gladly do so...
also, the energy absorbing I have now, will that still be there? or will it be gone? because I've learned to use the energy absorbing as a way to tell if people are lying or how they are feeling...

Well if you want to get rid of it and suffer minimal consequences then I would recommended a few ideas.

Alright have you ever had an mosquito bite your forearm and then you flex it? Then the mosquito explodes well in theory it might work (but if you do it this will hurt a lot and if you fail you will feel really low on energy possibly weak enough to have this thing overpower you)

So another method I would try is giving it food it hates, not just dislikes but some that it has zero tolerance for. Some form of energy that will burn it and make it cringe. (You must find that on your own, as well as make sure it does not harm you)

I know you will not want or need this thing forever, so pick a period in your life where you feel you will not need it anymore. A point where you can do things on your own and just remove it then. Until then be patient, do what you feel is right.
It has been on you for a while so it is going to be tricky to remove. But I would try speaking to it and figure out what tongue it uses (for speech) and learn some basic words if able. It may be on for a good reason or bad reason but asking brings you closer to the solution.

Alright have you ever had an mosquito bite your forearm and then you flex it? It will bite and start drinking your blood. You then flex your muscles and bring a rush of blood to the mosquito. The blood pressure will be high enough that it will rush into the mosquito and it will explode from the pressure.

You could attempt the same thing with energy. Just gather a bunch up and concentrate it. however this will hurt a lot if you use this method to pry off your "friend".
