what kind of charms talisman and symbols do you guys now of that are condusive to magic be specific
-
Charms as in stones or crystals? Or just anything and everything in general?
-
anything and everything
-
Well... if you mean magic as in spells. I don't. I'm not about to try and write a spell just to have it backfire on me because some perverse twist of fate.
But if we're just talking our own personal 'magic' then I don't use anything specific. I pick up and keep what tells me I belong with. Man.. I sound crazier and crazier all the time! *<:) But, seriously.. I have things.. stones, crystal, wood... simply because they told me I had to have them. I just couldn't walk away. If I had to buy it.. then I bought it. Some I found naturally. But it doesn't matter.. they mean something to me. They feel a part of me.
-
i was looking more on others knowledge of symbols and items that are useful for rituals
-
Ah... sorry. I guess I'm no help then.
-
Well, symbols...
There are runes, different types of pentacles, star of fae (seven-pointed star), and many other things. It just depends on what you want to do.
-
I have this thing that a girl gave me (for the nightmares I told you about) and it works
it is a necolace made in brazil
-
You can create your own charms and talismans by writing or carving runes on some paper or a piece of wood. I Generally use them to keep away bad fortune or to bring luck by either carrying them with me in my wallet or placing them around a room. Charms can take on whatever purpose you empower them with and so can be useful for channeling the energy from maybe from a spell or just be used on there own.
-
there ya go make one I do that alot
-
You can mix and match, too, to suit your need. If you wish to use a pentacle with a few different runes, get creative and mix them together to make a personal talisman that you can empower to do exactly as you wish. It's a lot of fun, actually :-)
-
ooooooooooooooook i know all of that and thank you for your information but unfortunately im not being clear enough i meant to say that i would like to know what king of charms you guys use how effective are they and how did ytou make them e.t.c
-
ang diyos ang agimat ko..... and the best part is, it works ^_^
-
hello eveeryone im dredging up this topic from the depths if possible to ask you guys what i should make out of some fossilized shells i have currently come into possession of whether
or not they are usable in spells or ritual or what kind of amulet they maybe used for. i dont know any ideas??????
-
try connecting with it's vibe, once you get a feel for it, your intuition should tell how you can use it
-
charms and talismans....hmm...
i just use it as sort of a protection. i tried using a pentacle but it came with a heavy price. now, all i just use is a crucifix
-
Since you already know about some of the seperate sybols of magic there really isn't much that we can tell you. You want to make a talasman inscibed with runes of power, which is fine, but look into what materials do what in the occult. Example Jade is supposed to have different properties of Obsidian which has differing properties of Sandstone. It will be up to you to decipher the intent behind the talisman, trust me, you simply do not want to make an object of power because something looks pretty. There are a varied assortment of treefrogs that are very pleasing to the eye, and they are as deadly as they are pretty. One more little tidbit of info for talismans. Start researching Hoodoo, many of their spells are physically orientated.
-
welllp thanx for the information i think ill shall use them to merely expand my control over the element of water
-
okay i just got a snake skin again any suggestions on what to do with it
-

Make a belt. Actually I'm serious, make a belt, inscibed inside with symbols you wish to use to boister those chacteristics you deem needing a little extra help.
-

http://www.realmsofmagic.com (http://www.realmsofmagic.com)
but whili i have you hear what do you think you could make a squirrel into???
-
Stew? j/k, you'll have to let me think on it a moment as 1 squirrel dose not possess much skin. After some thought I would say a bracelet, after you process the pelt of course, inscibe your symbols to the skin side on the pelt, I would suggest branding as opposes to inks.
-
hmmm interesting
-
No offense... Please don't be upset by this.... but how could you use an animal for that?? I couldn't... I suppose because I'm so closely connected to them. Humans... yeah.. I could do that. Hate most of those lil fukkers. The snake belt... I can even see that.... But a squirrel bracelet?? I'm not following on that one...
-
How? actualy it's not as barbaric as you would think. It is tribal belief that when you kill an animal you gain a small spiritual link to its spirit. Now when I kill an animal, it's always for food, however to ignore using all aspects of your kill is to be considered wasteful, so we eat the meat, make clothing from the skin, use bones for ornimatation (they make nice needles too), teeth, skull, all gets used. So to use the pelt for a bracelet, one enhanced by personal symbols, well that could hardly be considered horrible could it? Using human remains for these purposes, well if your into the darker side of magic........
-
It wasn't the bracelet that I find objectionable, but rather that it wasn't made clear that he is using ALL of the kill. That I can deal with. You shouldn't kill something unless you plan to use all of it. As an example.. my aunt went bear hunting in Kodiak, Alaska. I wasn't thrilled with her answer when I asked what happened to the rest of the bear. (She kept the skin, obviously.) She said she didn't know. Don't know?!?! How the hell can you kill such a magnificent animal and not have planned out what you'll do with ALL of it!?!?!?!
Sorry... I'm calming down now...
-
no problem i have a connection with animals mainly dogs but the same kind of connect with plants i live in a heavily squirrel populated area due to littering and such so its not uncommon to find a dead squirel around here if you look i was planning to use that.
-
Ah, I see. It sounds a bit like when I find a carcass and keep the bones. Just watch out for lice and mites. You're bringing fur home... you don't want any surprises.
-
ok thanx reminds me of the time i got bit by a "dead" snake
-
*<:) Oh man... talk about a surprise!!
-
yep yep who new some snakes had teeth?
-
Uhm... Don't all snakes have teeth?? Fangs at the very least... I'm pretty sure they do...
-
Uhm... Don't all snakes have teeth?? Fangs at the very least... I'm pretty sure they do...
Nope, boa constrictor is teethless... Also, if they have teeth it's usually 2, to insert venom or to kill the prey. Sometimes they have 4, but I'm not sure.
-
Well, anything around my area has teeth. Levin... what kind of snake was it? That would clear all this up in a hurry. lol
-
it was a gopher or a corn snake i have the skin but were not talking fangs or prehensile grabbing apparatus more like full rows of small pointy teeth like catfish teeth.
-
Yeah... still not surprised they have teeth. *<:) But that's ok.
Any thoughts on why I get so attached to things, Levi? For example, I was in a crystal/mineral shop and picked up bloodstone. I couldn't put it down. I had to have it. My hand wrapped around the rock so tightly that it left imprints. Needless to say, I bought it. It's still sitting in my car, and when I'm stressed, I grab it and, for some freaking reason, it helps calm me down.
-
omg i love bloodstone well its there charm or there magical sort of conductivity can be likened to a circuit board alot of times these circuits amplify our powers these things we are attached to like bloodstone is a biggy with me so is ivy and bloodstones nature or personality per say is like salt. specificallly comparing salts ability to make things taste more like themselves bloodstone helps you focus yourself inward almost always calming someone down and increasing there ability to very easily and powerfully conduct magic although most people only get a reaction when there in physical contact. but being a stone that progresses the internalization of onself it is a selfish stone in the a way as it is a poor conducter of outside energy and even worse at storing it it should be seen as merely a flow point in your energy circuitry.
that or you could be part crow and love shiny tings.
-
It's not really that shiny though. I've started carrying it with me at work now too. Dunno why. :?
-
Yeah... still not surprised they have teeth. *<:) But that's ok.

Perhapse you will also find a reason here.
Elements/Planets
Bloodstone corresponds to the element of fire, and can be worn or carried to increase vitality. It's used in magic rituals that call on the qualities of fire: purification, energy, warmth and action. It is associated with the planet Mars, which is named after the Roman war god. Thus, bloodstone can be carried by soldiers for strength, victory, courage and protection. Chalcedony stones also correspond to the moon and the element of water, and bloodstone is used to develop the watery quality of intuition. Meditating with the stone helps in remembering past lives and contacting ancestors.
Balance
Bloodstone is a balancing stone and it helps to create harmony between opposing factions and conflicting personal emotions by calming anxiety and fear. It should be placed in an area where arguments are expected to occur.
Healing
As its name implies, bloodstone is used for all manner of blood problems such as anemia and circulation. Women have used bloodstone to ease menstrual pain and prevent miscarriage. Green stones are also considered good all-around healers. It can be laid on the specific area of the body that needs healing or carried on the person. Bloodstone is as powerful for healers as it is for people in need of healing. Witches, magicians and energy workers use bloodstone to balance themselves and to increase their capacity to channel healing energy to the recipient.
Protection
Bloodstone is used in invisibility spells when the magician wants to keep a low profile. It's still carried for protection much as the ancient Babylonians did. Placed under the pillow at night, bloodstone protects against nightmares and guides dreamers safely through astral travel. Bury the stone near doors and windows for protection against intruders.
Wealth
Green is the color of wealth, and bloodstone is carried for good luck as well as used in spells to increase business. It can also be placed in the four corners of a place of business to draw in customers or in the cash register to attract money. A prosperity grid can be created around a room by alternating bloodstone and clear quartz crystals. The quartz acts a magnifier and increases the money-drawing aspects of bloodstone. The grid can be kept in place all the time and recharged periodically through meditation. This can also be used as a method of charging several bloodstones to be placed elsewhere.
-
and all lbood stone works better if you actually feed your blood to it
-
Yeah, Muerte, that helps. The Balance and Healing aspects are why I'm so attached to it. Now if they only had a stone for letting go...
Uhm... Levin.... my bloodstone doesn't actually have a mouth...

Not exactly true, in order to create an artefact, talisman, amulet or anything else you want to call it, it also needs charging all this really needs is energy being funnelled into it although many people, myself included will do this under special conditions such as a waxing or waning moon or with particular crystals. In terms of what to use, it really doesn’t matter it can be anything from a thousand year old relic to a pencil. And the runes, herbs and crystals used depend very much on the objective of the spell, and I’m afraid there are too many to list off hand but if you have any questions do feel free to contact me.
-
ok whats not true?

You never did point out what wasn't "true" about Levi's post. All you did was rearrange the words and say it a new way. And then advertised. Sorry, newbie, but before anyone here trusts you enough to "contact you"... we need to see that you're not just full of shyt.

i would still like to hear exactly whats wrong though skye and thank yous kadesh

Thank you for what, Levi?

how do u make a snake skin into a belt

how do u make a snake skin into a belt
1. Kill the snake. Be sure you are allowed to kill your choice of snake in your state or country. Conservation laws vary, and you may be committing a crime if you kill a protected species.
2. Cut off the head - and tail - and safely dispose by burying or burning. If the species is venomous - or you don't know - take extra care at this stage not to injure yourself on the fangs: even when dead, the venom glands may still be active.
3. Skinning and tanning the skin:

4. Follow this guide (or google for others) for the belt-making (http://suite101.com/article/fashion-history-make-your-own-snakeskin-fashion-accessories-a326183).

a snake skin belt?
that's cruel, unless you eat the meat, then it's hunting, but seriously, their symbolism is so much more fantastic when they're alive, i hope it's not for fashion.
i'm working them into a tattoo...a king snake eating some sort of viper over the small of my back where kundalini resides. The symbolism of the king snake devouring the poisons that can come from what most snakes symbolized over the area the metaphysically rules my sexual and spiritual interests.
Why a belt?
-
Quite an interesting tatt :)
-
How do you make a belt with the skin the snake sheded?
-
How do you make a belt with the skin the snake sheded?
You can't.
The inner surface of that layer of skin has already liquified and the molt that remains is too dry and fragile.
-
well.......what am i suppose to do with a sheded snake skin :??
-
Put it in a jar and on a shelf?
Not much you can do with it really, other than that....
-
i already do that but for some reason i'm just not happy with it there.
