Title: Elementals
Post by: Carden on February 12, 2010, 05:37:07 PM
I have been reading up on Elementals and was curious if there was a spell or something that either let you find them or (respectfully) summoned them.

There are a number of resources regarding working with Elementals. However, if you are new to magic I would continue studying much longer before you try. They can be fickle & sometimes dangerous.

Well if you can use your will to manipulate the elements then elementals is a logical assumption. The creation or even working with elementals is very tedious. If you are new you probably will fail. But as for possibility it is plausible. They can be very helpful. I recommend a sparing use of them. I would also be wise on what situation to call them for. Like possibly a flood you would call a water elemental for its mastery of water or a fire elemental if a volcano explodes. But the opposite may also work such as a fire elemental to melt ice or water to put out fire. Basic concepts like this. But still be seldom and careful.

i'm not exactly new... i just learn from (i know this is going to sound awful) experimenting. i come up with a goal and then try to figure out ways to achieve this goal. basically, i learn as i go and i figured i could learn more about elementals if i could just find one and have a conversation with it.

my main goal is to find an earth elemental and try to figure out what's going on with all the earthquakes. it seems like, in California alone, there's one or two a week now. Water and wind have been overly active too.
it just seems like everyone but fire has gotten all wound up and i can't quite figure out why.

In that case, I would look up info on contacting gnomes or the fey. Much of it will involve you spending time alone with nature. Remember that the fey can be tricky so always show proper respect.

they are in a since however realize us californians live in america ot europe elementals take different forms here hedgehogs moles impossibly large insects
but earth elemetnas are a bit hard to find naturally in california there more of a midwestern creature i advocate hiking in valleys or spalunking? im pretty sure thats cave exploration. i personally think that as far as the californian elemental flip out recently is a indicator of things changing im not a 2012 were all gonna die theorist but i feel like theres gonnabe a change after all haiti is like the mecca of voodoo and poof shatizzle huge earthquake for me thats the equivalent of atlantis sinking again and since california has many falts were feeling alot of there far flung tectonic action.

yep you may also wanna try a divining rod there large wooden staff like things which aremade of branches which have grown in the shape of a Y  witch hazel works well for this or oak
they sense energies, sometimes water, buried things if you tried experimenting im pretty sure you could use it as a tool for finding spiritual places ley linds and spirits themselves

so... i had an elemental experience yesterday.

it was raining on and off all day. sometimes pouring rain, sometimes sprinkling. our roof has never leaked before. it started to when it was sprinkling. not when it was crazy hard, but sprinkling.
i suddenly had a feeling in my gut that there was more going on than a leak. i said, "ok, you want my attention... i'll be right out to talk." the dripping stopped.
i went outside and tried to listen to see if i could hear anything in the rain. seeing as how i've never encountered an elemental before (or at least, not on a personal level) i couldn't hear anything that sounded like communication.
"well," i said, "i can't really understand what you're saying... is there any way you could say it so i could understand?" it then started raining harder. i still couldn't understand, so i went back inside.

a little while later, the roof started leaking again. i walked right up to it and said, "c'mon! please stop. this is my home and you're hurting it. i know we're not so responsible with water, but i try not to waste it. it's just that in this society it's difficult not to with the way things are set up. so please stop coming in."
with that, the leaking stopped and has not started back up since n matter how hard the rain is coming down.

i thought that was way cool.

yah water elementals  respond in kind to emotional neeeds there highly empathic however during storms usually alot of air and water elementals essentially go into frenzy.
you might have been talking to something a bit higher up on the ladder than a elemental.

usually a water elemental would cause a blumbing issue, busted water heater, rain to rain down specifically in one place in small areas a flash flood if there strong enough but thats waaaaay rare.

i heard a story of a student who was learning to call the elements. upon dismissal he said "go if you may, stay if you must." instead of "go if you must, stay if you may."
needless to say, it was a bit of an insult (however accidental). the teacher tried to fix it with apologies and offerings, but the student still returned home to a flooded basement.

i'm pretty sure it was an elemental. i could feel some sense of intelligence in the rain (you know how you can just tell sometimes?).

since then, i've been trying to be more conscientious of the elements. we've had no one come and fix the roof and even with driving rain, not one more leak.

hhaha i completely understand what your talking about you may want to also look for the elementals within there respective
astrological months most spirits naturally become more active during times of astrological correspondence

I think the water months might be during hurricane season. But I could also see that for air... That is the best I can guess for the water months... I'll look it up later.

Do you think it would be possible for an elemental to teach you things, like what it can do and how it does it ? That would be cool .

I have a bit of humor for this one. I once learned something from a water elemental.. I learned how to be wet..

In my basement, the ceiling has black plastic, with insulation inside of it. Well one part of this insulation was underneath the bathroom upstairs.. Well the toilet flooded (clean water) and the air duct was right there, so it led beneath to the basement. It did not leak, it stayed in the black bag.. then, one day, an urge to play with swords arrives. So we do it in the basement, well a certain individual decides to poke the ceiling... All of the sudden a loud "pop" and at least 20 gallons of stored up water fall.. Then about 10 more drips out after.. This only happened once.. but it put an end to sword fighting in the basement..

I suspect an elemental because this was an absurd amount of water, there is very low chance, that quantity was able to flood out of the toilet into the black bag ceiling of the basement. There was no other source of water to feed this location, it has not happened again, even after the toilet flooded.. So this only happened once.. with little explanation..  I swear.. I heard a snicker when it happened too.. (and not our snickering, but somewhere else)

Anyway that is my story.

As for useful lessons from elemental.. I honestly do not know. It seems logical that you would be able too, but that is only if you can persuade the elemental to communicate with you. I also assume they do not use any human language. Then, if you can avoid being offensive and work through the language barrier, perhaps new relations can be formed.

The assumption of no human language comes from the fact, I have not heard of anyone talking to an elemental. Or at least it talking back.
