Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

Hot on the heels of the announcement of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Paramount seem close to entering pre-production of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, "a dark action movie that picks up with the fairy tale siblings years after the traumatic childhood incident has turned them into bounty hunters." Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) is directing, and from what I gather the movie will be shot around Berlin, commencing March. The plan is to to catch 20th Century Fox on the hop and get this move into the theaters before Fox's Abraham... - possibly as early as Halloween. Abe..., on the other hand, has been tipped for June 2012.

Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) and Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time) will be filling the lead roles.
