My name is Lauren and I\'m a Casting Associate Producer for MTV. I\'m currently working on a new show that will be about real, modern day Vampires. For the show we are seeking a \"Vampire expert,\" who would essentially be the voice of the show. I found the extensive research done for vampires.monstrous.com to be very impressive, and was wondering if one person or many people contributed. If there is anyone on your staff who\'d consider themselves to be Vampire expert and would like to get in touch with me, please give them my work email address: Lauren.O\'Connell@mtvnmix.com
Good acknowledgment that we are the best site about vampires ... If anyone is interested among the vamp here on the monstrous forum, please get in touch ...

Wow, that's really cool stuff. One helluva pat on the back. Too bad I know squat about modern day vampires. Ah, well.
-
Think we should let her see the forum? To maybe give her a few ideas ?^_^
Pretty cool Loki, Wonder who our Vamp expert is here though. what we have is speculation mostly........Right?

Speculation.. Speculation.. Nothing is really certain so whatever we can gather up is hardly ever accurate but to a degree where it becomes acceptable by majority of the members on these forums i guess?
Anyway, I'm not even sure myself who's the biggest vampire know it all. I'd guess Nina whom i think isn't with us anymore would be a nice little candidate or i could be wrong.
Moloch maybe? Hah. Not me at least, please no. Leave me out of this.. i don't even like vampires. *cough*
Omnipony.
-
So who got hired?
-
Well, it wasn't me, lol.
-
Moloch would drain the minds and souls of all those unlucky enough to see the videos...... He'd be like a fat blimp feeding on the hot souls of a thousand Humanilum tanks!!! it would be ........... Engorging.

I saw a special on the History channel around Halloween that was about vampires, and in it their little 'expert' said me and my kind were the "most dangerous of all the types of vampires". Oh if only I could have taken a picture of my face when I heard that.... the smile could have chilled god's heart.
-
Don Henry or Michelle Belanger. Don Henry was on Mad Mad House & Michelle is the author of The Psychic Vampire Codex.
-
Don Henry if memory serves.... Though Michelle Belanger seemed a little melodramatic to me.
-
She is a little intense sometimes. But both she & Don Henry have vast amounts of knowledge & experience.
-
Modern day vampires... would the vampires from the old folklore work?

Please elaborate. I do not understand.

wow :o but then would the public be able to handle the exposure ??? XD XD oh this is gonna be fun X)
-
why didn't anyone forward this to Angelus? I mean he is the best about the vampire stuff...
-
yeah but even then, it could have been forwarded to him later....er lol nevermind
-
hehe then tell hilm X) or unless if the search is already over with XD..is it ?
-
My ears were burning. Someone talking about me? lol.

Wouldn't a show about modern vampires be better on Sy Fy network?
Or HBO? HBO did an incredible documentary on Lilydale which came out pretty fantastic. I can't see anything vampire related on the same network that broadcasts Jersey Shore...

Got not follow-up but here is another one .... from National Geographic. Read from bottom to top

Hi Loki,
I apologise for my very slow response. But I wanted to say thank you for your email and though I spoke with a number of people involved in the Vampyre scene, unfortunately we didn’t continue with the producing of this story.
All the best,
Emily

Hi Emily,
I had an interest in the Vampyre scene a decade ago but no longer for various reasons ... I suggest that you contact vampirefreaks.com or similar site or go to NYC to some club when there is a party.
You can also live a message on our forum as some of our members might be interested. But remember it is a shallow subject and there are some myths that deserve better attention.
Good luck,
Loki

Hello -
My name is Emily Potts and I’m a researcher for a TV production company called Beyond Productions based in Sydney, Australia. Beyond Productions specializes in factual and documentary style programs for both Australian and US networks. One such program that you may have heard of is the highly successful show ‘Mythbusters’, which we produce for Discovery USA. Another program that we have been producing over the last four years is a series for the National Geographic Channel called TABOO.
Taboo is a long running, prime-time, anthropological series which explores varying rites, rituals, celebrations and lifestyles from across different cultures around the world; lifestyles which are often considered taboo for a majority of people. For example, in our last series we explored the notion of obesity - can it be accepted, and can it be beautiful?
By presenting real stories interspersed with interviews from leading authorities in the field, we aim to demystify the taboos, shine light on human behavior and hopefully encourage a better understanding and acceptance for those living outside what is perceived ‘the norm’.
I am currently looking at potential stories for the new series, and one that we are interested in exploring is a story on Vampyres. I have done some research on Vampyres (this site helping me enormously!) and so I was wondering if I might be able to speak to someone from the website who is involved in the Vampyre Lifestyle. Or if you are able to suggest how I might go about getting in contact with a Vampyre? It's my hope to find someone who is able to speak with me about what it means to be a Vampyre so I am able to shape a story that best represents the community at large.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks.
Emily Potts
