Dangers of summoning fairies...

I read a couple quotes from M Sidhe's old messages concerning his messages with fairies.  I read his warning about summoning the fairies, was not recommended by him, and also this cryptic quote:

"O h ihave messed around with the bad ones, mind you.

An old topic, it happened last summer. Its over now."

He briefly mentioned this odd occurence again, I can't find it right now, about how he discussed one summer his bad experience with malicious fairies, I suppose he played around with summoning them.

Can anyone direct me to the post where this was mentioned?  I cannot find it anywhere.

If anyone else has had a scary encounter, I'd like to hear.  It seems like for the most part, people describe them as feeling "Not bad....but not good either".  It makes me wonder what they are, i hadn't believed in them beforehand, but now that I read more and more about sightings and experiences from child and adult alike, from all walks of life and various demographics, I am getting second thoughts.

My mother grew up in a haunted house, and I wonder if in some instances they are spirit shape-shifters.  some spirits, not the ghosts of dead humans, but maybe some of the evil ones can take just about any form to fool you.  I saw the scary ghosts in that house first hand as a child before I knew it was haunted and it scared the crap out of me!  Well according to my mother, my two aunts saw little people playing in the garden when they were out there playing on their own.  The wee folk didn't take notice of them, and my two aunts just watched in awe as they went about their business.  I can't remember what the little elves were doing, I believe they were dancing or something.  Even if they weren't related to the hauntings inside the house, the activity wasn't positive, it was more like scary poltergeist stuff, so these little guys couldn't have been 'good'.  They were obviously attracted though to the paranormal activity.  My aunts are both grown now and still swear they saw the elves.

My mother is Mexican and grew up in a town on top of a mountain, they call elves in Spanish "duende"

I hope someone who has been a member of the forum for awhile can direct me to M Sidhe's experience that summer, and I hope to read some scary elf/fay stories!  Thanks

the only problems I ever had with faries was that they wouldn't get out of my friends house because she was stupid and summond them in her house... they like to steal shiny things and colorful things a lot too... they LOVE MILK!!! I think their pretty but they bite and are annoying as hell....

Is there any truth to the old belief that cold iron serves to dispel the presence of the fey? I think there's an old legend which states that having an iron object on your person prevents an unseen fairy from hitching a ride on your back.

This isn't really a scary encounter and i did not summon them they were just there, but one time i woke up in the middle of the night and saw all these weird lights and flashes and then i saw these spiky looking wings and the outlines of some dwarfish thing. it was, as you said, not a bad feeling but not good.

Hi,

Its *me* (Joannski3) I changed my profile- i should have probably just changed the name to just 'Joannski' but I didn't want to be known as 'that christian'- i feel that a lot of the christian right and christian fundamentalists put a bad name for the rest of us, i told a mod i wanted to change to a general group, but you can't switch once you decide to pick 'a classification'.  In any case, this is all in good fun, and i don't intend to bring my religious beliefs into the forum, this is separate for me.  In fact, i was raised Catholic and many Christian sects don't like Catholicism anyway.

Actually, there are probably lots of people in this forum who have Catholic roots/background even if they don't practice anymore because Catholicism is a very 'superstitious' religion.  One of the few Christian sects that believe actively in the spirit world.  Amazingly other than us and Pentecosts, i don't think others have exorcisms, or believe in Angels and Demons being around....ANYWAY...

:focus:  Can you tell me a bit about summoning the fairies?  Do you think you saw the fairies because they followed you after being around your friend?  How can they tell you summoned them?  How would they hear you??? :?  I don't get how fairies wouldn't be spirits because that's how people attract spirits and demons...

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but the summoning spell i see online a lot is the one from the  cottingly book, the one about sitting where the cat sits, cross your toes, smell a rose...is that how it was done, or did she use a witch spell?
--why is it hard to get rid of them?  Do you think you could rid them with an exorcism?
--BITING?  did they bite you at your house?
--about the shiny objects- would they steal expensive jewelry?

***would they scare the bejezus out of me if i saw them?  i wonder if some people want to see them so bad they actually just have lucid dreams.  alot of lucid dreams or night terrors are similar, with little men, weather fairies, ufos...i mean not everyone could be dreaming, but some people i'm sure have overactive imaginations...its just hard for me to picture because i was never the type of person to have imaginary friends when i was a kid, i never 'saw' things that weren't really there, i don't understand how people can just materialize images up in their brain since i never could! or if i played that there was someone imaginary, i always knew it was imaginary, but never actually 'saw' it.

anyway, i'm working on a fairy house for my backyard.  i'd really like to go fairy hunting at night, but i really probably wouldn't want to see more than pretty colorful light orbs that i've heard about.  unfortunately, that's not the only fairy type that's reported.  and unfortunately, sometimes you get the harmful wicked things with the good.

i finally managed to find the old thread by M Sidhe/Dark Lord M about the nasty fairy encounter.  Interestingly, his negative encounter started when he unknowingly dabbled and used an occult symbol, the 7 pointed star, called the heptagram or elf star.  He actuallly realized the star was a portal, but unfortunately it was too late and even when his sister ripped up the star, the nasties wouldn't leave him alone.   In almost every story you hear that things start scaring you like that begin when people play with the occult, because they either don't know what they are doing so they don't take the precautions to protect themselves, and they give the supernatural beings too much recognition and they get stronger and stronger.  entities many times feed off human energy, especially fear and obsession

Well, i'd like to hear more about this summoning fairy business and hear more about your experience in the middle of the night, do you have any idea what time it was when you saw the critters?  did you get a good look to check and see what 'type' it may of been?  I was wondering what time b/c 3 AM is supposed to be dead time when ghosties and ghoolies are the most active, so i would be curious if the fairies were active at the same time

regarding the jewelry question, sorry to bug and ask so much but i wanted to know if they would steal my jewelry, the expensive stuff if i ever got a visit- and your buddy summoning in her house, how can you summon them so they won't go to your house?  i mean you can get them to stay out in the yard?  lol!

thanks for the info, i love to read others' experiences in the paranormal

Most fay are simply mischevious. They play pranks that are sometimes viewed as mean by humans but the fay just see them as funny. These fay are likely to be friendly as long as they are treated right. There are however fay races that are simply mean they are very similar to evil spirits & in some cases may simply be an issue of semantics as to whether something is is an evil fay or an evil spirit. I still would not recommend summoning as they are tricksters & you never quite know what you're getting since many can shape shift. As for stories, when I was 8 my family traveled to Ireland. The innkeeper's wife put me to bed. I was tucked in so tightly I couldn't move. She made sure to locked the window & door. When my mother asked why she went through such elaborate precautions since we were in a small country village the woman replied that they have a terrible wee folk problem & she didn't want them coming & taking me in the night.

Does cold iron ward them away as per the old legends?

Yes, the easiest way to achieve this is to nail a a horseshoe open end up or to bury it in the ground in front of your home with the open end towards the home.

Thnaks. Also, what is your perspective on the widely circulated rumour that the fey sometimes abduct human infants  and replace them with grotesque abominations?

In all honesty, I think it is just that, a rumor. It sort of follows the tradition of witches supposedly eating babies during rituals. People tend to fear anything different. Someone's baby contracts a disfiguring disease or mental problems & they don't understand so they find something to blame.

I am aware the question wasn't directed at me, but here's my perspective:
The idea of Changelings is HILARIOUS! It's almost like a warband of Celtic raiders was sitting around the fire after a long day of raping and pillaging...

"Hey Brennan, whaddya reckon is even more terrifying than being forced to marry the tavernwench you bedded yesterday because the Gods have left her with child?"

"I don't rightly know, Cormac. Maybe waking up one morning to find our future child taken by the Fair Ones and replaced by something even more disgusting and hideous!"

"Yeah, right. Like a regular baby isn't disgusting and hideous enough!"

I imagine the scene degenerating into lots of drunken laughter from there...

Quote"Yeah, right. Like a regular baby isn't disgusting and hideous enough!"

Now, that is hard to dsipute!  *<:)
