Not too sure if it's too late to post here, but... You cannot be turned into a vampire like in the movies, and Black_angel is right about a lot about vampires, or at least, 1 of the many variants of vampires out there, some have the urge to drink blood for energy, this is true, other just have this lust for drinking blood on a mental level (no, they are not insane), but in the end they are humans like us... 1 different type of vampires is the Psychic Vampires, that is because they don't need to drink blood, nor truly long for it, because just being around people is enough to suck out the energy...
