That's what all of us are doing, Lex. Opinions based on our personal knowledge. Some have more 'personal' knowledge than others, lol.
I know, I just wanted to state I wasn't saying what I said is correct, it's just what I think of the subject ^^ Like I said in a different post somewhere else, I do value you guys/gals opinion and points of view, else I wouldn't be here :)

I believe in spirts/ghosts/astral beings/ because I have seen and felt them.I've experienced things that couldn't be scientifically explainable. For example,I went through a screen door to my garage threw in some laundry opened the screen door to go back in the house and a rake from the backyard shed was propping it open...a light dimming to almost completely off while a portrait of my deceased uncle slammed down and the kitchen door slammed shut, all at once.I've seen blackest of the black shadow looking forms walking in my hallway that seem to never end.I always have these experiences in my moms house when I spend time over there and when I sleep over there I have realistic nightmares and things&experiences from those nightmares play out in my day around the house and backyard.
Like,I had a nightmare that my 1st dog was being hung by satan and when I went outside to the tree there was a deep laceration on the tree that wasn't there before and there was a rib bone that was large in shape...I don't know if it was my dog but it sure is a coincidence.

But you see, that's exactly what I'm talking about. As odd as all those things are, none of them have an implicit connection to ghosts.

I wonder how many times someone has seen something, only to dismiss it as their mind/eyes playing tricks on them? It makes me think of a video camera. Our eyes and mind are trying to focus on it, to make sense of it, and because they can't, we just dismiss it as nothing... or a trick of the light.
I would wonder how many times people have experienced one of the many ways in which the human mind can be unreliable, and assumed what they were seeing was an actual entity. We know about hallucinations, sleep terrors, infrasound, Vic Tandy's research and "The Ghost in the Machine", the Barnum effect and the human mind's natural compulsion to find patterns even when there are none. They may not be the only explanations, but they have been proven to exist, and it would be foolish to ignore them. Especially in the absence of anything proving the existence of ghosts.

I think there is some point at which what is logical and what is believable stop being the same thing. Suddenly the utterly illogical idea of the invisible walking dead stops being so unbelievable, just because we've been exposed to that idea all our lives, and whatever scientific explanations there are for our strange experiences are unfamiliar and confusing concepts.

I don't know, I really can't understand the belief that there can be more to existence than what science can explain. Even if ghosts did exist, it wouldn't be some unspecific bollocks about souls, it would be some scientifically explainable property of the energies and chemicals that make up the human brain that somehow causes conciousness to remain after death.

If science is supposed to be able to explain everything, then science should know the ins and outs of everything on the planet. So, if that's the case, why isn't there a cure for cancer?

it's not like the occult has ever cured cancer...
We are a young species, we have yet loads to discover about where we live and how things work...
Maybe sometime we will know all the answers, maybe we'll never know, but there is a scientifical explanation for everything, but some explanations need yet to be discovered

What the hell does the occult have to do with cancer?? I'm fairly certain that neither Fatass nor I mentioned the occult.

Momo, would you please take his little hand and lead him to the dots again?

never mind, I don't feel like explaining... And stop mentioning the dots please... If you don't like my replies and you don't feel like 'showing' me the dots. ignore my freaking posts then...
I'm going trough a hard time atm so I'm not so fund of being looked down upon. You might find me immature, childish, or even stupid, but I don't care.
I was just pointing out that science didn't find a cure, but your beliefs didn't find one either...

Since I don't believe in the occult, that statement is totally inaccurate.

Aww... having a tough time are you? Poor baby. Join the farking club. You think it's all roses for most of the members here??

And since you've just proven in a few other threads that you can't handle it, I'm am going to ignore your posts for the most part. Only a child throwing a tantrum would lock a thread because they can't keep up with a discussion.

Look, I'm just stating I'm having a tough time lately so I'm edgy...
If you don't like me, just say so in the open, but stop b*tching.
You may have had a different view of me when I first came here, but I can say the same of you...

If you think I should leave here, just say so, don't keep it locked inside...
Heck, if anyone else feels like I shouldn't be here anymore just say so now so we get everything right in the open.

I don't mind having a tough time, my whole life is 1 big hell and I've lived through it with many successions when no one tought it possible.
And don't poor baby me, I'm not a baby and you're not my mom, if I want compassion I go to my family and rl friends for support.

I don't dislike you. I dislike your lack of intelligence and your unwillingness to improve upon it. Stay on the forum if you are willing to work on it, if not, then you aren't contributing anything useful anyway, so you may as well leave. If I didn't like you, or thought you should leave, I'd have said it long ago. I have no reason not to say something like that, considering I've done so before.

Again... I'm not drawing your dots.

And this forum is full of friends and family. None of it by blood. Compassion and help are to be had in every corner; that's why we're here, sharing our experiences and giving advice. You just have to be open to a little crow snack now and then.

Science isn't able to explain everything in that sense. The whole point of science is that we don't know everything. That's why it requires evidence and logic to back up any claims before they are considered true, and even then new evidence can prove that wrong and change our understandings completely.

What I mean is science isn't just the study of atoms and chemicals and things. It's the study of reality. And as such, there's nothing "beyond" the scientific realm, as the scientific realm encompasses everything. Which is why I think the supernatural, defined as something "beyond the realm of the scientifically visible", can't possibly exist, even if things commonly thought of as supernatural do exist. If ghosts are real, they would be made of some sort of material or energy that's just as physical and corporeal as the atoms that make us up.

Where did the occult come from Lex?Haha, that was a bit random.
Everyone of us has a tough day.s**t,I've been having a tough year. That doesn't give me any excuse to not read. That doesn't give me excuse to open my mouth blindly, and neither does it give you the excuse to act like a damn baby because you've had a tough day.I bet your "tough" day couldn't even compare to ours, and even if your problems were so incredibly horribile then why would you post of the form if you're going to let your outside emotions get the best of you. This is the difference between us and you. When I have a really bad day I just won't post because I'm going to get impatient.Talk to us when you've learned to deal with your tough times.
We are all unique. You my dear are uniquely non-unique.

Strife

When i have a tough day, i usually go out for a walk, no need to be posting nonsense and the like just because of a bad day.....

Andrea Warfare

Yeah, exactly. That's all she's posting is nonsense and when we call her out on it she gets defensive.
We are all unique. You my dear are uniquely non-unique.

Strife

Ohh btw about the cancer...im sure there is some herb out there that cures it...hell the rainforest that is being torn down day by day, might have some plant out there that could cure all of our problems lol, but there is thousands of unknown species, plants, rocks exc exc and the more it is torn down the more we might be jeapordizing a cure for cancer exc

Anyways i am kinda interested how the occult was brought up lol
