The film is based on the book The Making of a Modern Exorcist and follows Father Gary Thomas, a parish priest from Los Altos, California, who is tasked by the local bishop in San Jose, California, with becoming the exorcist for the diocese. Skeptical and reluctant, Father Gary becomes an "apprentice" to a Rome-based exorcist. His skepticism is soon replaced by the cold reality of evil and the ways it sometimes takes the form of demonic possession...

If I had to choose only one movie to watch this month, possibly this year, this would get my $$
