The more you keep pushing people away the less help you'll get towards the end. Call me arrogant, call me stubborn, beat me as bad as you want, I still wont quit and I damn sure wont back down.

I just had to say I find the title of this topic a bit ironic.

"Church makes false clames for money."

Seems to me like thats what they ALL do.  :-D Gimme money to fead the poor...right after we hang our new golden cross, and put velvet curtains up.

Wasn't talking about you, Nick, was talking about the moron that wrote it, there was also a prank a few months ago about how the leader of the southern baptist organization said that baptists were accepting gays. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with gays, or that all baptists aren't tolerant of it, but I know for a fact they wouldn't say that. Hell I'm not even sure baptists believe in anything other than metaphorical demons. At least the ones around here don't.

I understand. I think this topic should be erased.

Why erasing it? Sure, maybe that article is fake, but Church isnt less guilty of such deeds. We can continue with the list here ;)

Wolfman528

Don't erase, every big group has done it, can't say any differant about churches, right?

Well, there are allot of churches that do allot of good for the comunity and people in nead, but there are others that .....well for lack of a better phrase .... Piss me right the hell off. Maybe I should start a thread in the religion board to explain that. Just one example of many, A friend of mine decided to go to church one Sunday at this big fancy new church, for no real reason other than it was the closest one to him. When he pulled into the parking lot in his old truck he parked in front near the highway. One of the goons in charge of parking asked him to move to the back of the building because the front was reserved for the nicer looking cars. If it were me, I would have hit the bastard right in the mouth....  he is a little calmer than I am, so he just left. But the point is thats farked up, and things like that happen all the time.

Are you serious? OMG! ???

That's pretty messed up Ravin, and I'd be tempted to do what you wouldn't have hesitated doing. Fortunately for me (tough I guess that depends on point of view) I haven't had any run ins with bad churches, just bad church going people.

I just don't go to church. Here's something people need to remember there is a difference between a religious person and a faithful person. Its hard to explain in words, but there is a big difference.

Well yeah, of course there's a difference. The main being that 'religious' people push there views on others and see to it to judge them based on what they don't like, or rather what they have decided is blasphemous.

The thing is, in my own opinion anyway, if Christ were to return today I think he would be a little more than slightly pissed at most of his church going followers. I think its those who study his works in search of understanding, perhaps not understanding of everything, but in search of understanding of the man he was, what he represented and stood for,are the ones who he would be proud of.

Most religious leaders study the bible only to twist the words there in to serve there own purpose. Many of them dont care what the meaning of those words truly are, only about how they can use them.
