I find that if I wake up in the middle of a dream, I feel like I've suddenly dropped onto the bed from a great height, I'm still pressed into the bed.

Strangest feeling ever.

Then I commence my repeating the dream and fixing up everything that went bad in it and making it into something good and finishing off whatever I was dreaming about, until everything feels alright again.

Yeah, I get the falling thing once in a while too... It can get freaky if you're having a nightmare o_O.

You'll have to tell me how you get back into the same dream :-P I never managed to... There are so many dreams I woulda wanted to, though T_T
Seek not beauty in battle. Seek not beauty in death. Consider not your own life. If you wish to protect that which must be protected, then strike when your opponent's back is turned.

No I simply go back over the dream while I'm awake. I've never been able to fully sink back into the same dream when going back into sleep, I agree, if I could, I would absolutely love it at times as well.

Ok... I seriously need some help here. I had another series of nightmares that I couldn't wake up from early this morning. I woke up for a split second, only to fall right into another one.

The first one I can't seem to remember at all. It's just the feeling of having a nightmare.. an unknown evil, so to speak. And the second..(I'm trying hard to remember details, so bear with me, please.) I was in a car crash on a 6 lane highway. My car was a modified highchair and the vehicle in front of me was an open-air box truck. It had PVC pipe around the back and I got close as I was 'driving' so I could see in the back, but when I got up there, I started to slip out of the front of my high-chair 'car', so I grabbe the PVC pipe to push myself back up, but somehow that made the truck in front of me flip. It went back over front and flung me through the air. Afterwards, I remember looking for traffic and trying like crazy to get the guy that was driving off of the road. I took my coat off and put him on it and slid him over. Then all these people that have been or are mean to me and dislike me, started showing up and poking and prodding at me and blaming me for everything. They said I was in pain because my toes were broken and needed straightened out, so I pulled on both of them to fix them. What I remember most about this, was all the pain. Two of my toes were sideways, not as in snapped, but twisted, and my ankle was swelling up really badly. I also remember in my dream that my bf wasn't anywhere near me because I was on my way to see him. His parents showed up at the crash, though. And then, so did he. He pretty much told everyone to get the hell away from me and then he helped me up and let me lean on him as he took me over to a recliner. We sat down and he cuddled me until the ambulance got there. But all through this, I remember the pain. So much so that when I finally woke up for real, I expected my toes and ankle to be hurt. I kept rubbing them across the end of my bed and when I got up to let my dog out, I still had to look down and see that they were normal.

I can't keep doing this... it's so hard for me to come back to reality after one of these episodes... I'm really afraid that one day I won't be able to.

A simple remedy to this would be to realise you are dreaming whilst in the middle of these dreams.

Other than the horror part you have some very cool ultra realistic stuff going on when you are asleep.

Itd be dumb NOT to develop what you obviously have a talent for.

I know I'm dreaming the entire time.. and I'm trying to wake myself up... which I do... for a heart beat... then right back into the same or another nightmare. And when I do wake up, the remnants of the nightmare are so strong, that I don't know if it was real or not. I have that problem with regular dreams as well, so you can imagine how much more terrible it is with nightmares.

If you are aware that you are dreaming why not have a bit more fun with the contents.

Dreams are THE place where your daily rules dont have to apply. For example who says you have to be scared by any of this?

Being scared by these scenes is a habit you learnt from being awake. The rules here are different. They are MUCH MUCH more flexible.

If you know then you are dreaming then get curious about what your body is capable of in dreams. Toes pointing sideways is a cinch. Broken bones, skin peeling off etc, its all under your control in a dream. It doesnt have to hurt or be scary.
Get curious about it all, play with whats possible.

When you start to control your dreams and the conents of them, then its likely that the whole mood  and feel of them will transform too. Its very much like learning to drive. Its daunting and scary to start with. Eventually its fun and second nature.

Your talent is that you are a great dreamer. All you have to do now is learn to drive your dreams rather than being in perpetual dreamt car crashes.
Thats the essence of it anyway.

It doesn't just hurt in the dream, though. My toes hurt for hours after I woke up.

I think what OldBill is trying to say Kadesh is, experiment with bending the rules. Pain is something we experience while we are awake so try to bend your perception of it in your dreams until the pain no longer bothers you while in that situation.

I have to correct something I said earlier... I don't realize I'm dreaming in the entire dream. It's only after I do that split-second wake up and fall right back in.

I had another one last night. I've had this dream before, but there were certain things that changed. In this dream, I got shot and when I woke up, I was still in pain. I had to check in the bathroom mirror to see if there was a mark. I could put my finger on the exact spot... it didn't hurt to push, but it hurt in general.

I want to sleep more so I don't have to think as much, but I have such trouble sleeping.. and when I do sleep, I seem to have these disturbing dreams or outright nightmares. I'm getting to the point where I don't want to fall asleep anymore.

@ Ryobi
Damn. I felt exactly same as you! The feeling like you are falling. Especially when i die in my dream. Btw, nice display pic.

@Kadesh
Lol... It happened to me before. But luckily my dream is not really realistic. I just can remember where i got hit then when i woke up and check... It indeed hurt a bit.

K... I remember someone post about when you die in a dream, you die in reality. Are you serious?? Damn! I dream that i die a several times before. 1 of the dream was i was a monk and i was in a bank(i don't know for what reason), a robbery happened. I tried to reason with the robbers. Instead of listening to me, i felt a sound then something hit my head. Hard. I can feel i fell down and it really feels i was really dead. The eyes looking at floor and shoes moving around. Then there was silent and black stuff cover my vision.
Fire in the hole!?

Hello,
Does anyone know various herbs that can be used to enhance lucid dreaming and memory recall?
