All my reasearch leads to the words "boram, boram, boram" is a spell used by wingless fairies in irish folklore to take flight. Says absolutely nothing about opening a portal.

Thats probably wrong. In my book, in the chapter called "Faery Gateways And The Realms Of Enchantment, it says this: "using a magical word such as "Boram...Boram...Boram", a word used in Irish Faery tradition to open the Faery way" and after that it states a couple other things, something about ragwort. It looks like you got the info from this site: http://www.medbherenn.com/faerie-lore.html The person who made the site copied the book but got some stuff wrong. Even in the book, right after the author talks about the word "Boram", ragwort and magical caps are mentioned.
Time drops in decay
Like a candle burnt out.
And the mountains and woods
Have their day, have their day;
But, kindly old rout
Of the fire-born moods,
You pass not away.
-W.B. Yeats.

You might want to incorporate magical seals in your work, too.  Seals and sigils have been used time and time again in grimoires for summoning entities, and there are supposed to be seals for invoking faeries too.  I think one of them is a 7 pointed star.  Even Solomon used seals, supposedly to control demons to build his palace for him.
