...soap operas....
 .....someone with amnesia...

......on General Hospital... fully recovered...

...can lead to a good story line...

 :? :-o

Woah, the minute we drifted on to soap operas, I could feel my neural synapses beginning to wither and die... Hang on... Who are you? Where is this place? .....

Does anyone else get angry at the way some anime has been dubed to be more "americanized"?

Kind of, I think Japan should make characters that look more like themselves. (If you havn't noticed they like to make their cartoons and comics more of a forgein topic. Like Knights and Pirates.) Naruto is good because it actually feels like it fits the culture.

I think LPl meant the re-showing of Anime here is very different.  And yes, that's extremely true.  Looking at some bad dubs like (the worst I can think of here) Groove Adventure Rave (here known as Rave Master).  There are just so many errors that actually kill some of the original plot.

And M Sidhe, there's other anime than the ones they show on Cartoon Network.  Try popping into a store, you'll find there's a huge variety of anime and manga.

The worst dub ever made in America as of now is "Dub Piece" (One Piece)

Of course what do you expect from 4kids..... :x

They skip over 30+ episodes

Replaced all music with rap and other crap that does not give the same emotional as the original

Did not do the Little Garden Arc for they were in a hurry to the Alabasta Arc and the made a rather large plothole in the story.

Rather stupid named changes

Ace is now Trace

Whiskey peak is now Misty peak

Many attack moves had name changes

Some Devil Fruit had name changes (ha, Tweet Tweet fruit)

No blood except for the times 4kids gets slopy

changed all beer and wine to root beer or water or juice!

Sanji who smokes constantly had his cig turned into a tootsie roll pop

Any deaths have been rewritten completey instead of a person being killed in a important way they are instead thrown in the dungeon

rewritten most of the dialouge with bad american puns

smoker was changed to chaser

lougetown was changed to rougetown

turned a whale into an iceberg(which by the way, that whale was an Arc in the story 4kids skiped)

Took at ALL religious references (Zoro tied to a cross....Swatska)

The famous impalement of luffy by crocodile was completely redone to show him just gravity defying hanging in the air.

Many people are wondering if they would dare to even show an edited Skypeia Arc for theres no way to get around so many relgious references, Up in a cloud, everyone dressed as angels, more wondering how they are going to explain why the four priests murder people and God killing people from above....of course Luffy finds out the so called God really just ate the Thunder Thunder fruit and sinces rubber can,t be beaten be electricity beats the crap outta of him in the end.  Wondering how they are going to show this if they do show it at all.

And the man behind the evil......http://img101.imageshack.us/my.php?image=alkahncard9rqcj9.jpg

My personal favorites when it comes to anime are Outlaw Star, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, Full Metal Alchemist, Gundam Wing, Yu Yu Hakusho, G Gundam and the list could go on. I like most anime. I'm not a huge fan of Inuyasha or other anime/manga that go on FOREVER, but I like most others. When it comes to manga, I'm pickier. I like action and gore (W00t! for Hellsing), and I don't like manga that I have to buy 20 or so volumes to get to the ending unless it's REALLY good.

Over all I just think its dumb, but I'll be the first to admit I still enjoy some of the shows (Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Inuyasha). I just get bored with the plots so quickly that I can't ever get into the shows.

Outlaw Star was great but was very short (1 season I believe?) Around the time Adult Swim finished the series they lost the rights to show it.  Inuyasha......I,d say it would be better off if they did not have all the filler episodes.  My girlfriend personally like Inuyasha but I think its way to long not to mention If you buy the manga, the manga series is 42? books long which means your spending over $400 dollars US money.

Um...I know this was posted a long time, but I think there was some type of spin off from Outlaw Star, but I think it was a show about a bunch of girls. I'm pretty sure that it was fan service most of the time. I could be wrong.

(And you can call me what you want, I'm an all out anime/manga fan.)

Does anyone else get angry at the way some anime has been dubed to be more "americanized"?

It's annoying. I hate when they redo an anime and then when it comes out on dvd, you find out you missed something, because they 'just didn't want to have that person say it'. The really old anime Ronin Warriors or Yoroiden Samurai Troopers is a good example. There's an entire scene explaining where the boys come from that was changed in the American version. :P

I perfer the Manga over the anime for the reason animes in america are mostly what is called "dubbed"(dubbed meaning, parts taken out of show, changing names, words, characters themselves.  example someones ciggerate is turned into a loolipop)
That's why I like Manga over Anime, too!!! but I love it all. I even have my avvy from the end song of Oulaw Star, Blackheartangel. Plus have you ever gotten your hands on Anime's that just have closed captions, or whatever they're called, in them? They aren't altered in any way, they aren't in English, but they make up for it by not being dubbed. I heard that even Pokemon has been altered. they supposedly have tons of gore in it!!! Dead annoying Pokemon!!! Whooot!!! :-D

So...many...colors...oh my eyes are hurting! It burns! X_X *shies away back to the shadows*

I draw anime/manga but I don't have the patience to watch them, their episodes. And I prefer anime over manga, for watching and being more awesome to do.
