Were human beings, we used to live in packs, that's why most of us also pack together in closed environments (this was like this in ever, no one lived apart, except some ofcourse)
The reason we do this is because 'the group' has a large influence on how we act... It's a survival instinct...

Oh, a hint... If you're ever in trouble, like drowning, yell to someone by saying a specific thing of them. Example: Hey you, with the red jacket and brown pants, help me.
That way he'll come to aid you. If you yell: Help Help! Chances are noone is going to help you. They won't know what to do because the group is standing still.

Also, just sitting there and watching... Loads of metalhead do that here too, so basicly you're acting like a specific group there too ;)

Just do what you want, when you want and how you want to. But don't try to break the law... If you're being yourself and you want to be independent, you don't only need to swim upstream to society, but just be yourself at all times and don't let the surroundings effect your behavior...
If sitting and watching is who you are... By all means, keep doing so ;-)

You said metalhead. Metalheads cannot watch. Do you know why? Because of that term you used. It's a label; they're part of a group. Being part of a group is like religion, you see, it gives you feelings and feelings cloud your judgment. Therefore, they do not watch. Once you have feelings, you can say goodbye to watching objectively. Now, according to you, I belong to that group. Why? Because I mentioned metal. But if I were a metalhead, would I not hang out with metalheads? Why do you think I sit alone on the bus and watch like this? Because I've purposefully stepped back from groups. I've thrown away those useless instincts. I'm not saying this lightly; at first, it caused me more suffering than anything I've felt before. But it's freed me.

Now, if you respect the law, like you said, you cannot stop your surroundings from affecting you. To be bound by rules is to be enslaved by them and I have yet to find a free slave. Rules are meant to be broken. If you do all you're told, thinking about achieving complete freedom is useless. So if you don't break the law, you're abiding to those rules and enslaving yourself. That's another reason why I've abandoned those instincts. Yes, they are survival instincts. But what good is there in joining a group that will stop you from living freely?

The metalheads don't watch, Lex. If they were watching, they wouldn't attach themselves to a group. Do you think they all sit around and watch the world, think day after day, trying to find out what exactly is wrong with it? They're drone, like the rest, they don't care. They don't care if the world's farked, because they're happy the way it is, just like the rest.

I suddenly have an image of Raz looking up with wide, innocent eyes... and a mouth full of grass... *<:)

Hell, I think we've all sampled grass for one reason or another. How else can you truly get to know your enemy? And for those that aren't following along in their textbooks, by 'enemy' I mean conventionalism.

Those who are not following along will recieve a nice big dose of my displeasure, and truth to tell, I am gearing up for little doseing of reality for one of our members.  There has been too many random post for my taste.  Don't mean to disrupt this thread with a rant, no matter how small, but I think that one our newest members is a prime example of societies sheep.  Is it any wonder why we wonder about these people?

No small wonder at all, Muerte. What is amazing is that they don't have the capability to question anything in a logical manner. I'll admit to just 'falling in line' on some things, but I'm not brainless enough to just stand there while the shoot me in the head with their idiotic propaganda.
